Our team isn't much better right now, if we get Dwight we are going to trade away all of our depth and have to build around Dwight just like the Magic would if he were to resign there.

He may become a Rocket only because no one else us left to trade with. I really don't want his drama.

Best case scenario: Dwight get's traded here. He re-ups for a max contract. Can you rescind the offer sheet made to Asik? That's an awful lot of money for backup C.

    Curious.

    You can say anyting...
With no historical validity to support it.....

    OTOH

Bynum has historically proven that he goes in the tank in crunch time.

I'm going to guess 2 out of 3 of Scola/Martin/Lowry, then probably Motejunas, Parsons, and 2 of the 3 rooks. Hopefully with us keeping one of Lamb or White.

Roughly 8 million a year for an insurance policy C who will step into the starting role next year if Dwight bolts isn't a bad idea.

I still like the Asik move.

It's a verbal agreement, nothing will be signed until July 11th. So technically, yes, we can rescind the offer sheet but it is a little unethical. But I am not sure that stops Morey.

Probably won't have to rescind. Asik will probably want out of commitment if we get Dwight since he won't be starting here. That could be part of the grand deal. If Orlando can clear enough cap with a Howard deal, they could conceivably offer Asik the same deal we gave him...or more.

The thing is where else is he gonna sign now? Brooklyn doesn't have the cap space for him after this season. They're not getting him unless Orlando suddenly decides they do like Brook Lopez after all.

If Brooklyn can't have him maybe he just says "f*** it Houston ain't that bad" and re-signs here.

Orlando will obviously want 2/3 guys they can start right away and Parsons makes more sense to ask for than say a Marcus Morris or a Terrance Jones.

Good point but he's still getting the money. He apparently wasn't going to get a better offer anywhere else.

Yeah I agree I'm not saying that.

What I am saying is what is stopping Orlando from saying "Lets just call his bluff instead and work on improving our team around Dwight."

If we all believe Dwight will re-sign in Houston that is doubly true in Orlando where he feels a certain amount of loyalty there. Wounds would be healed with a new mega-deal and if the new Orlando GM instead starts working to Improve their team then what's stopping them from just keeping Howard after all of this?

Seems like an aweful lot for a guy who doesn't want to be here. Also leaves a hole at the 3 and nothing for a trade for Gordon if that can be consumated as well...

They want upside...not to win now. If the young guys can't play they lose more games and get better picks.

They may be waiting to see if Hibbert signs with Portland.
