So you must like missing the playoffs and picking 14th in the draft every single year, yes?

dwill meeting with nets right now while joe johnson is a new member of the nets. They are capped if dwill comes back with him and johnson. Wallace contract and resigning lopez takes away their cap space. Thats a team with direction not waiting on a crybaby to make his decision. Bad trade for joe johnson though

    Why would he?

Maybe he wants to hang with Jay Z all the time?

    Or maybe he's just insane...

If D12 goes to Houston and Brooklyn is out of the question, there aren't many options for him now, which makes it more likely he'll sign an extension.

In 2013, how many teams would attract Dwight? The only contender would be LA, but with Kobe they don't have cap room.

I say we pull the trig on D12 now because our chances of keeping him are increased

If the Dwight trade happens for Houston at all, it will be on Morey's terms. What I will say is this: Morey can easily walk away from the Dwight trade with no regret. Orlando? Not so much. It's all about flexibiliity. Get a good deal or no deal at all. That's textbook Morey. If anybody wants to overpay for a Dwight rental, Morey will just back off and say, "Have at it." Nobody is holding a gun to Morey's head to get a deal done.

Well, alright, let me rephrase that in anticipation: Nobody who matters is holding a gun to Morey's head to get a deal done, which is why I think Les is one of the smartest owners in the league. Have universal assets, and eventually somebody will be desperate enough to give you a good deal. If it doesn't happen, then it doesn't happen. When you make desperate trades is when you screw yourself over for years to come.

The Nets definitely just made it VERY difficult for themselves to acquire Dwight Howard at any point in the next few years.

Hey Dwight, Houston ain't so bad, y'know?

The only way I would want him is if we keep Parsons, D-Mo, Lamb, White and future 1st rounders. Other than that, I don't want to trade for a guy that I have grown to dislike more than anyone else in the leauge that has back problems and doesn't want to be here. Not to mention his offensive game is not near as good as a guy with his physical skills should have.

It's kind of starting to look like a foregone conclusion that we're getting Dwight. More interesting than how we can pull it off is, how can we screw it up, from this point?

He doesn't want to be in Houston. If the Nets are out of the question, he'll just leave for Atlanta next offseason.

One championship year for two bad years, I will do that deal. I don't think bringing Howard here is enough to make us a championship team without another star. With Howard planning to leave, other stars won't come here, so we would have to hope a star emerges from what we have. If he leaves we will have two years of bad contracts and end up drafting to the 14th pick all over again. We have drafted 14th for 3 years now. Throwing away a lot of first rounders and two starters for just a good year (not a championship) is not a good deal.
Its like getting a Rolls Royce for a year, its going to suck real bad when you have to let it go after a year and go back to something ordinary.

But we would have his bird rights, if he walks away from all that money than it's a risk worth taking.
