I hope he leaves. I like the guy so I would like to see him get a ring somewhere.

If he stays here, he will be forced to play 30 minutes a night and blow his knee or quad out because Morey never got a starting quality C.

I agree, I'll rather have someone who has been in the league 15-20 years get the ring than stay with us until retirement. Very happy for Howard and Battier.

If Camby is willing to take $3M from the Heat, but would prefer to stay with the Rockets, would he be willing to take the $2.5M room exception?

he said this was where he wanted to end it all last year I don/t think Camby is one to throw statements around lightly We'll see but I for one want him back If not good luck to a good guy with a "heart of a champion" attitude

Yeah, I seem to recall him saying that this was it for him, that Houston was his last stop. If that's the case, then it shouldn't take too long for him to make his decision...that is, of course, if we decide to extend an offer his way which should be a given (I hope).

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Free agent center Marcus Camby, who lives in Pearland, said before the season ended he wanted to continue his long career in Houston, and the Rockets' signing of Chicago Bulls restricted free agent center Omer Asik to an offer sheet has not changed that.

"As Marcus has said all along, his preference is to stay with the Rockets," said Rick Kaplan, Camby's agent, in an interview with FOX 26 Sports.

"There's a lot to get done in the next week or two. We'll see what happens." Since Asik cannot sign his offer sheet before July 11, per NBA rules, and with the Bulls still retaining the rights to match the offer, Camby may have to wait awhile before the Rockets address his situation.

"It's more of a Houston issue than a Marcus Camby issue," Kaplan said. "He would love to be with the team, if the right combination of factors are there. "We have a lot of faith in Daryl Morey. We'll just have to see if it can all work out."

Kaplan said Camby does not have a definitive time when he wants to get something done. "Patience in Marcus' case is a virtue, which usually is in free agency," Kaplan said. "The timing at some point will be critical because other teams are going to want to start to make some decisions, but we haven't come to that point yet, and we'll see where we are when that happens." Kaplan declined to identify the other teams on Camby's radar.

However, NBA sources told FOX 26 Camby has interest in a number of teams including the Dallas Mavericks, San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat and New York Knicks.

Also, Houston's offer sheet with Omer Asik has spiked interest in unrestricted centers Marcus Camby and Chris Kaman, sources say.

Looking like Camby is very open to signing with the $2.5M exception for 2 yrs. That would cement him as Mutombo 2.0 for us. Great!

I rather have Camby and have him learn D-Mo some tricks than having just Asik.

HOU C Marcus Camby's updated free agent list: HOU,DAL,SA,MIA,NY & BK. Camby still likes HOU, but not waiting on Asik's situation to conclude

    For $2.5 mil I'd do 3 years.

for $3 mil I'd probably still do 3 years.

I wouldn't be mad if he joined the Heat. He could do wonders for their rim protection.
