That's a great point. What if we didn't fire jvg? Likely we would have had some great d. What else? Why not explore the past decisions, some mistakes, in order to evaluate why our team is at its all time low. The entire point of this thread is to key in on one decision of many and discuss its impact and evaluate of the rockets were making a stupid decision.

Obviously good enough to generate some discussion. This is the off season so why not discuss things on our minds?

I agree with sentiment that parsons would have been buried into the d league. Chase was ricks project.

We probably played playoffs in the last season and would have a better team.

We would of won a championship! Yao Ming and Tmac would of never gotten injured. What ifs? Mchale is our guy as of now, so give the guy a chance. It's not like we signed him for life.

And Chandler Parsons would be able to fight his way on the team, just like any other Rockets player

What ifs are important if you had control over it. Firing a coach was good v injuries that were out of management's control are two different things. Apples and oranges.

Don't miss the non-existent defense. Which he took with him to Minnesota(25th in defense last season).

It's funny how people will look back and just remember the good stuff, but never the bad. You know, how his players never even gave a damn on D, how he loved his Aaron Brooks and Shane Battiers even when they slowed down. How he would adamantly play only his guys while never giving young guys a chance to compete for PT. Oddly enough, the same people are now complaining that McHale isn't playing KMart, are the same people calling for KMart's head due to his disappearing acts in the 4th.

I'm pretty much content with fans simply believing that no current coach is ever better than his predecessor. When Adelman was here, it was all about lamenting how the Rockets no longer could win because they no longer had their defensive identity. Now, it's just the opposite.

So Adelman's 19th ranked defense is 'non-existent'. What is McHale's 17th ranked defense then? Artest, Ariza, Lowry, Lee, Battier, etc. never gave a damn on defense under Rick?

One thing you did get right though was in your previous post - "I'll just say this, you can bulls*** in any way you want to make a coach either awesome or putrid." You're pretty good at that, especially when you completely make stuff up like in the above quote.

People wanted to believe that Adelman was holding back our rookies' development. I think things really hit home the day it was announced that TWill would be waived.

In Adelman's system, Lowry's and Dragic's assist production would not be as high and thus they would not have as much value as they currently do. It also would have prevented the Lowry all-star campaign that happened last season.

Artest, Ariza, Lee, Hayes, and Battier developed their defense before Adelman. They came to Houston as already fully developed top defenders. Players that devloped under Adelman: Landry, Brooks, Scola, Budinger, Hill, etc. are much less tenacious on D. Lowry was a great defender too, and Adelman thought him unworthy of starting over Brooks, who was atrocious at that end.

As for McHale's tenure this year, surely you're not comparing a new coach without camp with an injured roster with Adelman's smoothly ran machine from past year, right? Because that wouldn't be biased at all.

For guys like this it still hasn't hit:

Who are you talking about? If we know one thing is that Adelman doesn't play "bad rookies", time has proven him 100% right. What about the unheralded but good rookies? Brooks? Peaked under Adelman; Chase? Peaked under Adelman; Mandry? Peaked under Adelman.

Every good young player that belonged in the Rockets rotation was given a good opportunity under Adelman, Parsons would have been the same.

When Ricks son Chase gets injured? Or maybe Traded? Are you seriously going against what has already happened?

Or here is a refresher. Rafer. Brooks. Lowry. Dragic.

Are whole line of PG's is a good example. They only got to highlight, show meaningful worth once the starter got injured or traded.

    Need another presidentfan? Shane. Bud.

On this board where so many wanted Bud to start because he deserved it and Shane had no offense and his defense was getting weaker??? Only happened after the trade. Rick didnt want to 6th man Shane.

Give me a Rockets incident with Rick where he turned the rotation not due to a trade or injury.

Agreed i used to think Adelman hated rookies as well. But it turns out that TWill just sucked. He played Patterson, and Patterson played very well under him when he was a starter for that stretch
