Lebron, didn't he walk away from more money from the Cavs? Dwight is banking that he'll make up for the lost salary with more endorsements. This guy will possibly not play the whole season for the Magic, if they are unable to trade him, or if traded to the Rockets, he'll probaly forced the Rockets to trade him to the Nets. This guy is just a timebomb and NJ Nets is the only team that can dispose the bomb.

    I am wondering.........

if there will be a deal done for Dwight contingent on him re-signing or not re-signing. Something like this....we make the trade for Dwight with Asik on the roster. We have an agreement with Orlando based on Dwight re-signing with us. If he re-signs, we trade Orlando Asik and whatever else for a couple of their bad contracts, whatever they want. And if Dwight doesn't re-sign, then there is no contingency deal. In other words, Orlando gets max trade value through the completion of two separate trades, the first one being the actual trade for Dwight, then the second one being based on Dwight re-signing.

That's why I hope they don't trade him. Let him expose himself even more.

The Rockets are like the poor little ugly kid who keeps asking the pretty girl to prom. Sooner or later, the Rockets need to understand that nobody big name WANTS to play here.

It's not ALL our fault. Houston, TX is not Los Angeles. It's not Miami. It's not New York. Big time players want to be in big time markets. It means more marketing $.

The only chance we ever have of having a big time star player is if a guy we draft turns into one.

    No pressure, Jeremy Lamb.

My sources report that this morning Dwight Howard ordered eggs for breakfast, then changed his mind to tacos, then canceled that order for pancakes, but at the last minute opted in for waffles.

I don't believe in whole Illuminati thing or people actually selling their soul to the devil, but he probably done that long before he met Beyonce.

Moreover, I can see alot reasons that she be attracted to him.

I still look at it like this:

We need to jettison Lowry, Martin, Scola, and probably Patterson and Morris asap. I have a hard time seeing Jones prosper with us.

Why the hell not turn some combination of the above into one year of Dwight Howard? Don't look me in the eye and say we'll be worse off with him on the team instead of sulking Martin, pouting Lowry, or the quintuple smurf forwards.

We have NO ONE at center (don't mention Greg Smith as if he's an actual option)

Camby is not guaranteed to return, and may not even be likely anymore

Bulls may still match Asik, who's a dice roll regardless, and at worst Howard gives us extra time to evaluate/develop him as a starter

A Josh Smith trade wouldn't be a bad consolation prize, but Smith has demonstrated over the years that he's not a guy that can carry a franchise as the primary option. He's a grade A #2 type.

It's been said already numerous times, but I'd love to trade for him to piss him off.

I don't think anyone would object if you could do that.

If a deal of Lowry, Scola, patterson, Morris and maybe the Dallas pick got you Howard, I'd jump all over it. If we then added Asik and got Gordon as well...holy cow.

I doubt that deal gets Howard though. They are going to want Montejunas, Parsons, Lamb, etc. Someone from that group. The question that exists is do you get rid of a high ceiling player for Howard.

If I can get a lineup of
    Dragic
    Gordon/Lamb
    Parsons
    Montejunas/White/Jones combination
    Asik

I think that can compete in the playoffs. Do I want to give up that young talent to add Howard if he is going to bolt? I don't know.

Orlando Magic star Dwight Howard told Yahoo! Sports he will not re-sign with a team outside his preferred list that trades for him, and emphatically denied that he ever used the term "blackmail" to describe how Magic officials convinced him to waive his early termination option.

As the Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets and other teams prepare possible trade offers for him, Howard told Yahoo! by phone that, "There’s only one team on my list and if I don’t get traded there, I'll play the season out and explore my free agency after that."

Howard wouldn’t specify the team, but multiple league sources believe that it is the Brooklyn Nets.

Howard also denied an ESPN report that he had told people Orlando Magic officials had “blackmailed” him into forgoing the early termination option on his contract that ultimately cost him his free agency this summer.

"I never used the word blackmail in reference to any of my dealings with the Magic," Howard said. “I never said that. It’s defamatory and it’s inaccurate. I know what blackmail means and any report that I used the term incorrectly is inaccurate."

Howard met with new Magic general manager Rob Hennigan on Friday in Los Angeles, and said he told Hennigan of his desire to be traded. However, Howard insisted he was merely repeating a position he had made clear to Magic officials since waiving his ETO in March.

"This was not the first time [that I asked for trade]," Howard said. "I communicated this to [Magic president] Alex [Martins] and [former general manager] Otis [Smith] way before Friday that I wanted to be traded – months before this meeting with Rob Hennigan. That was all way before Stan [Van Gundy] got fired."

Howard is rehabilitating from back surgery, and wouldn’t speculate on whether he could be prepared to return for the start of the regular season. Howard had a herniated disk repaired, and sizable fragments of bone removed on April 20. Before the diagnosis that Howard would require season-ending surgery late in the Magic's regular season, Howard had heard the suggestions inside and outside the organization that perhaps he wasn’t truly injured, that maybe he had bailed on his team.

"I’ve never faked anything," Howard told Yahoo! Sports. "I’d never fake a back injury to not play for my team. I played a lot of games in a lot of pain, and there were times that I was crying in the locker room afterward because I was so seriously hurt. But I kept fighting. I’ve played with a cracked sternum in the past, and played with a lot of different [injuries].

"This time, I couldn't play. Regardless of what people say, 'Hey, you’re Superman,' I'm a man. I bleed. And I have bones, too. And something happened that I couldn’t control.

"It really upset me that anyone would say that I was doing something out of spite for my team or my city. I have the utmost respect for the Magic organization, for the people of Orlando. Everything I did was from my heart, and I would never do anything to betray my city."

[Related: Nets discussing possible trade with Hawks for Joe Johnson]

Howard discussed something else that had become synonymous with his season, and that was the bizarre April 5 shootaround in Orlando when his former coach, Stan Van Gundy, told reporters that Orlando management had informed him that Howard had requested his firing. The video of Howard walking into a scrum of reporters, unaware of what Van Gundy had said, went viral. Ultimately, it became a flashpoint of criticism toward Howard.

When asked if he felt set up, Howard told Yahoo! Sports: “I did. I had no clue about what had happened, about what he had said. I wanted to clear it up that this was not what was happening behind closed doors, and I stepped into something that I didn’t know how to handle. It hurts me to this day, thinking about how people were saying these things about me, calling me, "a coach killer," and all this crazy stuff. It upset me, it hurt a lot."

I can understand him not wanting to go to Houston, but what OKC and LA are good teams to play for and both would actually suit his game well or could accommodate him.

They should just send him to Canada. If I had a player like that on my team, I'd send him to the worst possible location that he'd want to go to. Toronto, Utah, Milwaukee would be hilarious options!

Broussard just said Howard's recent comments are trying to scare teams like Hou and GS away. On The Herd.

Well maybe only 3. I listed PF by the way I see their potential. I don't know that Montejunas would actually start. In fact, I'd expect that Jones might win the starting job at first because of defense.
