Yeah it's a good trade if we take our emotions as fans out of it. However, I don't think that deal would happen considering Parsons is our only pure SF on our roster. As of right now, we essentially need to hang on to him out of pure need.

I've said all along that Parsons is the player every GM is going to request in a major trade. Our other young players may have potential, but Parsons has already proven what he can do. Parsons may not be a future all-star, but every team in the league would like to have him. I have a really bad feeling about giving up our young players. Especially for a player that has been injury prone. Giving up Martin and Patterson is no big deal, but I would hate to see Lamb, White, or Montejunas get shipped out for Gordon. I'm willing to suffer through some difficult years with the young guys in order to rebuild the team.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

Who starts at SF if they deal Parsons and how much of a drop-off will there be?

Morris ain't ready to take the job. Bud's gone. Go with one of the young tweeners?

They gotta offer someone in that deal other than Parsons...

No it's not. I would hope our GM isn't dumb enough to trade our best PF prospect and only proven SF when we have a glut of PF's and no other real SF.

I think Parsons is safe. No other SF on the roster and he is very much outproducing his cheap contract.

Yeah, not ideal. It'd be tough to give up Parsons, but usually trades like this hurt a little.

Morey could easily find a role player with height at SF if Morris, Jones, or White can't step in and take over that position.

We'd loose one of the few players in who can actually guard KD.

Just want to clarify that it was him suggesting an offer and said he didn't know if it would fly, just that it would be what he would want and what he thinks the NO GM would want.

All the Rockets draft picks that have been personally hyped up by Morey and gotten the most attention initially have disappointed.

Dorsey, "best defensive big in country", prototype of future of Cs in NBA.
    Patterson, 6th pick
Morris, "Ron Artest kind of defender"

    White?, "top five talent"

The whole point of collecting all these "assets" is to be able to move a few for a star if that occasion presented itself. Eric Gordon is a star.

I really like Parsons, his defense will end up being elite and his offense is probably going to be at least Battier + but if that's what it takes, so be it. I wouldn't pass on this opportunity to be great because we may not know who our starting 3 is.

I agree with this. Rockets would already be giving an often injured Eric Gordon max money...on top of that the most I would be willing to give would be Kmart, T.JOnes and either Patrick Patterson or Marcus Morris.

If we can't even compete for home court in the West, it doesn't matter if we can guard KD.

I want to keep Parsons as much as anyone but if we get a star for him you do it.

Very true. In a conference with Durant for the long-term, it would be dumb to trade the 6-10 defender when you don't even have another SF on the roster. Long defenders don't grow on trees either.

" Yeah we really happy with this pick, this is who we were really aiming for. Almost moved up to get him, so were happy we could get him there. " Every year.

Better to yield the future Dallas pick than Parsons. He could have been drafted top 10 last year.

Parsons? Hell to the no. D-Mo? Hell to the maybe. Morris? Hell to the yes.

Throw in White while he still has value.

No one is talking about Jones but he's an athletic 6-10 SF with strong defensive skills.

Parsons at 2, Jones at 3. I want to see that.

If Gordon come to Houston in a S&T deal, can NO give him a 5 years 55 million?
With the extra year, Gordon will probably take it .

As opposed to, "The guy we wanted was no longer available, so we thought this dude might be serviceable, brahs". What do you really expect Morey to say about his picks?

File this one under "Morey needs to be sweet and caring to his players, less they believe they are just assets". You guys can never be pleased. If he talks someone up people b**** and moan. If he treats them "like an asset" people b**** and moan. Repeat ad nauseaum.

Every team always say they got the guy they wanted in the draft. I've never heard a general manager say "All of the players we wanted were gone sow e settled for this guy. We aren't really sure how we feel about him, but he's ours now."

If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with.
