I bet the Bulls are shopping Noah hard. They have 3 days to decide.

Asik is a 15MPG bench player in Chicago, of course you don't think he's worth 25M. In Houston he would be the starter and fill their biggest hole position-wise. FYI, the Rockets currently have 0 centers on the roster. 8M for a starting caliber center, who his own coach and front office believes he has DPOY potential, is a bargain.

I agree those are dumb stats. I was using them to show how dumb they are.. just as dumb as some of the advanced stats you guys have posted in here about Asik.

When you look at advanced defensive stats, even Korver has good numbers... but that's because we're a good defensive team! In large part due to Deng, Brewer, Gibson and Noah. Asik barely played. Most of the minutes he got was when we were up by a lot of down by a lot.

Yeah because the bucks would just randomly move back two spots?

They obviously thought that Dalembert was worth moving back for, otherwise there is no deal there.

They actually have 13 days. FA cannot be signed until July 11.

You have clearly missed the point.

I know this. I just didn't like your wording. Dalembert did not net us the 12th pick all by himself. Dalembert netted us moving up 2 spots...that's all...from 14 to 12.

if he plays 30 MPG for you guys and averages 10 boards and couple of blocks.. he may be worth it.

If you guys keep your offensive weapons like Scola and Martin, having offensive challenged C like Asik won't matter.

But if the defense is bad around Asik, don't expect him to improve it by much. He isn't Tyson Chandler.

No. None of this makes any sense.

IIRC, they actually got 2 weeks. Asik can't "officially" sign until the 11th. Bulls have 3 days from July 11th to match.

I apologize if I'm wrong on this.

He averages 3 points per game. So whoever signs him will be paying him roughly $2.7M per ppg.

Omer Asik has had knee surgery in the past, thats probably why he can't play a full game

I am fine with Asik as long as Camby is resigned and it's part of a bigger strategy at improving. If we come out of this offseason with Asik and Gordon added to the team, I like that road. If we aren't adding a player like Gordon, I don't want a player like Asik.

You guys are just feeding DD's alter ego.

I know he can be great defensively, but when I saw that quote about his coaches believing he can be a dpoy, It made me say whoa aloud. If coach thibodeau and his slicked back hair like you that much, then asik is a must have. As for his lack of offense, hayes learned to hit a lay up eventually..just saying.

We've started an offensively challenged Chuck Hayes for years before so no I don't think it will matter.

The Rockets were average defensively last year, so I assume adding Asik to a roster with 0 centers can only improve it. Unless you think Thibs played him for his offensive prowess?

    Asik

I think overall it is a good value. Morey had to backload as Chicago would have matched. Considering his age, and size this is a good deal. Just look at What Roy Hibbert is getting. Also Brook Lopez will probably get more than Asik.

He played a pretty big role in getting that pick though.

The whole point I was making was...to the people that were saying we should have kept Dally instead all the while ignoring what he got us. Yes he helped us move up two spots...and with that we drafted Lamb...so I don't see how what I am saying is any different from what you just said.

But you guys did have Camby for a little while and Dalembert. Both are better than Asik. So you weren't starting nobody's at C last year.

If you don't bring Camby back and only have Asik, you'll definitely notice the downgrade.

Don't see how you can't like this. He's a very young center who's proven that he can at least be a backup.
