Kwame Brown got 7 million last season.

Darko Milicic signed a 3 year 21 million dollar deal a couple of years ago.

Clearly, being a GM in the NBA doesn't mean you always know what you're doing.

Daryl Morey is the LAST GM to overpay for a player.

You are talking about the Warriors GM and David Kahn.

    about 4-5 million a year.

Like I said earlier, if it was a 3year/15M dollar deal, I would wanna match.

But that last year is sick.

That post was showing that GM's overpay sometimes. You said the Bulls and rockets think he's worth that much... Just because they think he is doesn't mean he is.

Other than driving up the price for the Bulls, I see no need to waste time on a stiff like Asik. I don't think he's better than either Dalembert or even Camby at his old age, much less over $8 mil per season.

Competitive offer and Im not opposed to it. I think the guy still has a lot of upside and at the very least he gives the rockets what they need, ie rebounding , interior defense and size.

I wouldn't be shocked if the offer is matched though. It's not a ridiculous contract for a true 7 fter

A lot of posters should just cut the crap and read what NIKEstrad has written.

If I were the Bulls, I would wait until the last possible minute before showing my card, akin to what the Magic did with Gortat.

Yep. I remember when no one thought the Magic would match the full MLE offer on Gortat.
