They have to think about the future. If they ostracize Dwight right now, they can pretty much kiss any player ever wanting to play for them again as an organization goodbye. Players talk to each other. I'm not saying they need to cater to every of Dwight's whims, but they also cannot just move him out of revenge.

What if we drafted Royce White to be Parsons replacement?

    Mind=blown

    Would you guys miss Parsons?

Royce White is not a 3 he would get killed on the defensive end trying to chase traditional 3's around the perimeter.

How does the proposed Asik deal affect our ability to obtain Dwight Howard?

    I'm wondering this also.

The deal is worth 25 million over three years. The year by year salary (so I'm hearing) is 5 million the first year, 5.5 million the second year, and 15 million the third year. I'm also hearing that it's 8m and change over the 3 years?

Regardless, having Asik back up Dwight Howard would be phenomenal.

Well you usually don't pay a backup over $8mil, so if we get Asik that means no Dwight.

Rockets have quietly bowed out. imo

They got the guy they wanted in Asik, if the Bulls don't match.

If we take back a Hedo or Duhon contract, those expiring would be a convenient way to match the salaries.

Seems like a waste to bow out when suddenly everything was working in our favor.

I doubt we've given up on Dwight at all.

Lets just say you don't pay 8 mill per year for a back up center. Specially if that center wouldn't get much minutes behind a guy like Howard.

I think if we get to sign Asik, w/t out the Bulls matching, we have unofficially taken ourselves out of the Dwight Howard Drama and concentrating in other area's (E.g.; Eric Gordon).

Nothing was ever working in our favor. It was all smoke and mirrors to placate the fan base, that we had a chance to compete for a championship. The reality has always been that we're a mediocre team with a mediocre future due to the lack of tanking.

I understand we're still a mediocre team. I meant more that there's not really much chance of him staying in Orlando any more and the Nets have been making moves that would prevent them from trading for him or even signing for him in FA. It seemed like it was leaving us as the best trade partner remaining (unless Clips suddenly decided they wanted to send Griffin and Deandre Jordan to the East coast?).

If we aren't gonna tank, only way to get better is to trade. Big-name FAs don't want to come here. Once we get that first star, though, then we have better opportunities to add another.

    What did ARankin11 ask?

Feigen: Even with Asik, the Rockets could continue trade talks with the Orlando Magic about center Dwight Howard. Howard, under contract for just one more season, has indicated he would not sign a long-term deal with the Rockets. If Gordon chose the Rockets, he would hope to change that.
