What didn't dm make a run at Roy hibbert ? Instead of fooling around Asia ? Makes no sense to me. I think dm needs to go. His asset hoarding strategy is not working. In fact he gets little or nothing in return when he parts with a player....

All defense, no offense. He's like the anti Aaron Bricks!

When Nikola Pekovic goes for another 30 points against our midget front line, remember how you said no to Asik on this thread.

Who was last center Morey targeted on the first day of free agency? Marcin Gortat, whose stats were 3.6 PPG 4.2 RPG and 0.9 BPG the season before. In hindsight Morey made the right choice to go after a center with such meager stats, so I'll trust Morey's decision to go after a player with similar stats and situation.

Nice try, but we don't have Adelman calling the shots to feature Asik in our offense like he did with Ariza. Asik is a defensive specialist, nothing more.

The amount of negativity for Morey is astounding.

Its Morey's fault that Dwight Howard opt into his contract last season.
Its Morey's fault that all of his trades failed due to target teams getting their target players.
It's Morey's fault that we didn't tank to get a higher position in the draft.
It's Morey's fault that the fan in section 102 got miller instead of bud light.

Yes, some of Morey decisions hasn't panned out, (ie. Morris) but the man is doing his best to improve the team. Where are all you haters when everyone was applauding Morey's early moves, and everyone was posting that infamous picture of him... The "fickle-ness" of an armchair gm... everything is sooo damn easy right? Get a clue...

Agree or disagree with the way he's doing it, bottom Line before you hate, realize Morey goal is to create a championship caliber team that we as fans can root for.

I am ok with this offer. I think in todays NBA, Asik is above average defensively, rebounding, and shot blocking. He is very strong and clogs the paint. No more open lane to the rim.

In todays NBA, with the exception of a few centers that can score efficiently, I would NOT want my center taking a lot of shots, or even touching the ball except on rebounds, put backs, and obvious open dunks.

Asik has proven he can guard the big centers, clog the lane, box out, grab boards and dunk it back home. I think he would easily surpass Dalembert's 7 points 7 rebounds production with even better more consistant defense, and Dalembert was getting 6 or 7 million.

Hibbert is worth the max. Here's why. You essentially gain an all-star on your roster for free. Even if the max is slightly overpaying, the worst years are towards the end of the contract. Maybe he's worth it, maybe he's not... but at the very worst, you get a good center for a year and then trade him. Houston would be getting back assets that we otherwise would never have had.

Think Ariza signing: Ariza was not a good player. He was overpaid. We were able to flip him for Courtney Lee. This was a HUGE win for the Rockets overall.

I've been thinking about this. What if Asik simply didn't want to play for the Rockets?

He didn't really go after him though. He made a joke offer that never would have been accepted.

Given that contracts cannot be signed until July 11. What do you expect the guy to do other than talking to the free agents that they want?

And what shell game? You honesty thinks he's trying to hide something from you?

Actually your wrong. The offer DM made was in line with the offer that Gortat signed with the Dallas Mavericks. Cubans offer was only slightly better but the Mavs were also offering a garunteed starters role while the Rockets were still having visions of a Yao Ming recovery.
