They'll probably trade Gasol at some point.

Dwight doesn't strike me as an *******. It's just his agent who is stupid and an *******.

Dwight probably got drunk one night and made a promise to Jay-Z to do whatever it took to play for him. That's why he feels so guilty about going anywhere else. He feels guilty leaving Orlando too. Dwight's not a bad guy, it's just that every move he makes he's torn by guilt. As he gets older he'll learn to stop making commitments to non-family members altogether.

New GM wasn't there long enough to gauge the situation as a whole. No reason for Orlando to rush into what could have been a poor decision on their part.

Tell me which teams have a better chance of landing DH...and what the odds are of those transactions taking place. And be specific...dont just say "the Nets"...tell me how the Nets would get him.

    The floor is yours.

It's sad maybe Dwight Howard wants the rockets to change their uniforms... Get completely away from this Yao Ming designer crap

Miami? If Wade was anywhere else, Miami would not have the big three. Only New York and LA matter. All other cities need at least one superstar there in order for another to join. Houston is not unique. Where would Dallas be without Dirk? Same spot as us. Stop spreading the myth...

If we get him, it wouldn't be the same feeling as I had before the draft. When Dwight asked the NBA Player's Association into the Magic blackmail for him signing that no-trade deal at the deadline recently. It means Dwight didn't want to come to the Rockets because Magic was about to hand over Dwight to us at the trading deadline. If he does come, I would be his biggest fan, but my worst fear is that he'll sit the whole regular season with back injury (according to Dwight's doctor, not Rockets). He is so focused on playing the Nets, I don't know how the Rockets can convince him otherwise. He would destroy Orlando and Houston, we would be set back for years.

If this is a serious tactic from Dwight's camp then you don't trade for the rental. This would indicate he is truly willing to forgo the extra contract money and walk. On the other hand, it could just be a scare tactic to force a trade. What legal basis could he possibly have to win this dispute? He is the one that opted in! LOL!

It is one of the plausible scenarios. In fact, it's more than plausible. Dwight Howard will not leave 30 million dollars on the table to play somewhere other than Houston if the Rockets acquire him. If he didn't care about the money, he wouldn't have opted in at last season's trade deadline. Right now, he wants is to be with Deron in Brooklyn, but get paid the max as well. He's using scare tactics to try a last gasp effort to get what he wants. Orlando is just like Utah and Denver before them, unwilling to take the risk of calling his bluff and offering him a max extension. However, when another team acquires him, it's over for Dwight to head to Brooklyn. He's not leaving that much cash on the table to make the move.

If the Nets assumed they could get him, they wouldn't be blowing their wad on an extension for Wallace, and trades for Joe Johnson and Scola.

This is very true. And a mistake for Hennigan to wait until after the moratorium started to begin trade talks. He had plenty of time to visit with Dwight and make a trade before the moratorium. The way the cookie crumbles now will have a lot to do with what DWill does. So, we are going to get to see how badly DWill wants to play with Dwight. Is he lying to everybody now about committing to Brooklyn while he is going to wait for a Dwight trade or is he going to ignore where Dwight is traded when the trade is likely consumated on July 11?

Why would Orlando give a rats ass where Dwight Howard wants to go? Do they gain anything by sending Howard where he wants to go? If I was the Orlando GM and Howard came into my office and said 'I don't want to play for you and I want you to trade me to Brooklyn' I would laugh in his face and trade him to the Siberia Nobodys out of spite.

You Yayhoos who are saying you don't want Dwight here will be the first ones frothing at the mouth and praying we re-sign him the instant he puts up his first 30/15 game if we indeed trade for him.

I really feel one or more of our draft picks along with Motie will become something special. Don't trade any of them for a rental. You can't see what you have if you don't develop them. They can have their pick from the other players.

He wants the most money he can get. So his options are:

    1) Force trade to Brooklyn; get max offer and play with D-Will(his preferred option)

    2) Accept trade to another team, sign max offer

    3) Accept trade to another team, reject max offer, and take a lesser max contract in free agency(the only threat to the Rockets here would be Dallas, and he's not leaving money on the table to play for the Mavs). Brooklyn looks like they aren't going to be able to offer him the max if they acquire Joe Johnson.

    4) Sign max deal with Orlando.

    5) Take a huge pay cut to play with D-Will.

If the Rockets land Howard, he's signing a max extension with the team. He will not leave that much money on the table to go elsewhere.
