Those were bad signings...but they were trying to build a team instead of acquire assets with no regard for fit or need.

And doing nothing. Fun times post championship (once Barkley Left)

Also, aren't you one of the main people whining about barely getting into the playoffs with no chance?

Yeah we have already proven Morey fans hate stars and long playoff runs. They love analytical approach to basketball with projections in stats. Rather than the sport itself.

Never said I was a Morey fan. Pointing out facts for the " cd was the best gm" people who only remember the 94-95 years

I think he's doing a decent job within the bs parameters Les gives him

Yeah. Winning. Riley cleared out space to bring in 2 stars in one offseason. Wake me up when Rockets mgmt gets that done.

morey needs to stop wasting all the damn cap space aquiring bench warmers and d league recepients. We dont have enough to sign a good player now even if the player went on television and said he wants to play for houston. Waive the players from the bucks, trade some players for draft picks, and lets get some centers on the roster because we are the only team in the league right now without one. Ryan Hollins will be the best we can get if morey fails at getting asik.

Aren't you basically making my point? If the most successful GM in recent years did it by being the biggest dick in the NBA, telling all his non-Wade players to go screw themselves, why should people on this board care whether or not Morey likes Chase Budinger or Kevin Martin?

This is Houston, Texas. It is not the most attractive destination for free agents or ego inflated superstars.

Dallas seems to have no problem being a hotspot.

They're on DWill's short list currently. Tyson Chandler was happy to be there, they actually turned him away to rebuild. Got Shawn Marion in a SnT. Caron Butler was happy to be traded there. Jason Kidd was a bit hesitant at first. They were one of the few teams Shaq was willing to be traded to from the Lakers. The only player that didn't seem to want to be there was Lamar Odom.

Meanwhile, we're on Josh Smith's list and Tmac wanted to be here in 2004. That's it. By the way, I'm talking major players near their prime. Not Vince Carter signing with Dallas for the minimum or Marcus Camby wanting to re-sign in the twilight of his career.

Dwill is from Dallas. Trades are different than free agency

Neither Dallas nor Houston have had significant cap space to spend in free agency, not until now. We've had to acquire players via trades and players actually want to play for Dallas. Why limit the discussion to free agency? San Antonio wouldn't look like a hotspot if you look solely at their free agent signings, but you know they are.

Let's face it, Rick Adelman was our biggest draw the past few years. Players actually wanted to play for him (Kmart, Barry, Miller) rather than the city.

Morey is responsible for Magic Johnson having AIDS.

Morey is responsible for Derrick Rose getting hurt.

Kevin McHale is hated by Dragic, Scola, Patterson and even Jeremy Lamb!

I don't get it "Morey hired McHale".. He's only been here a year and now he should be fired (even though we barely missed the playoffs) AGAIN!!!
--- Adelman was our coach 2 years prior and no playoffs yet everybody misses him? Hell Van Gundy got us there a few years so is he "tied" or "more loved" than Adelman? If McHale gets them to the playoffs this year will they all be missed equally? Lol Coach can only do so much/ GM can only do so much. Les wanted McHale I'm pretty sure. I don't think Les says "let's keep Adelman" to Morey saying "nah we'll go after McHale"... Weird

People in general want stability. Being put on the block and constantly having your name heard in trades would annoy you. You can say all you want about being in a business and making millions but even in this business you can find other employment(another team). Thats the dam point. How many people would want to play for a team that treats players like that. Why take the chance of signing in Houston if you truly believe they will want to trade you soon after?

You cant compare the Rockets/Morey to those other teams becaus those guys have a superstar to build around. Riley/Wade, Clippers/Griffin, and etc. Once you get a star, other players would be willing to come to you.

There is a difference to playing nice and threatening to send you off as soon as you sign on the dotted line.

Here, let me go ahead and sum everything up. Morey sucks, McHale sucks, Rockets suck in general, Houston sucks. If you dont win a championship every year, you suck. Nobody wants to play for us. Morey is the worst GM to ever walk the face of the earth because he doesnt have LeBron, Wade, Durant, Dwight... Took me a few days of reading the board to finally understand but now I get it.
