So whats the hold up? Morey did not dazzle him? You know other teams want him too Morey.

By the way heard on radio "Lakers, Nets, Magic discussing a deal currently"

Weren't the Rox planning to offer Nene a max last year? I would sign Hibbert to a max before I would ever sign Nene to a max.

Wonder if Muray chickened out and low balled him an offer like the MLE instead of the offer that was rumored about...

I'd rather go after Roy Hibbert or Javale McGee.

The hold up is that no contract can be signed until July 11th and few "verbal" agreements have even been reached in the entire league. The hold up is that free agency only began late last night.

Yes, and its quite simple actually. Max contracts should be reserved for guys playing at a star level or with potential to get to that star level. Star....aka amongst the best in the game. Game changing studs. Hibbert isn't that and isn't projected to be that, which is why his own team won't match.

Maybe the fact that his own team is leaning towards not matching the max contract. That should tell you something.

Love it - $8M per season for a guy who averages 3 pts and 5 rebs per game. That is Jim McIlvaine-esque.

Other possibility: Asik doesn't want to play for the Rockets.

i just dont see how asik helps this team, we overpay him and he keeps this team afloat the 500 line and thats it.. do not want this guy..

Ding...we have a winner. It seems every year we are last on the players wish list. We are going to have to overpay to get players other teams want at this point. Even then we are still not a top choice.

I'll take Asik over McGee and its not even close. McGee is a r****d on the court.
