[Fox 26] Morey to meet with Omer Asik in LA tonight

Hibbert avg'd an amazing 12 and 9 last year. You guys are all high from watching him beat up Miami's frontline when they sent out nobody taller than 6' 8. Dude straight disappears at times, and he floats under the basket when he should be out challenging shots. I'm not saying I like Asik or anything, I'm just saying Hibbert isn't worth the max.

allstar selection doesnt make him a max player lol. Look at the centers in the east with NO dwight the next decent center was hibbert. Fans determine selections also btw and coaches had to choose him because all good centers are in the west

 

LOL! Man I am starting to feel like that nerdy kid who gets picked last in team sports again. I havent had that feeling since my chubby days in middleschool.

He played well in the playoffs, Had 9 blocks 2 different times in the Playoffs, and had a 18, 19 rebound game againist the Heat

plus he is ONLY 25.. he is gonna get better

So basically you can't rationalize why Hibbert is a max player? LOL

 

Check the stats son. He was an all star by default. I suppose you would've signed Brad Miller and Jamaal Magloire to max deals as well? Lololol:grin:

Did you watch the playoffs this past season, a lot of the Pacers success was because of Hibbert.

Blocks shots- check

solid rebounder- check

smart player- check

good shooter- check

good post up player- check

young age( 25 years old)- check

great work ethic- check




Am i missing something as to why Roy Hibbert is NOT a max player

Wouldn't it be fun if Portland gets Hibbert and Pacers get Asik?? Haha nice going Morey, keep telling yourself that your so called new strategy with stats, treating people like numbers and moving players like chess pieces is going to pay off one day. Is anybody still convinced Morey is a wizard / genius or whatever? The guy has personally caused agents and players around the league to avoid Houston and even hate us. YEP!!!

Oh and not only that, but Gogi's agent is now keeping Morey hostage, because he knows that the Rockets have to sign him, because Lowry wants a trade( who is even a better player than Gogi, on a cheaper contract)

 

Nene wasn't a max player last year and didn't get a max deal.

 

Hibbert is not a max player yet, but could be in 2 or 3 yrs, he's still young ... and he 'll get the max because there's not many good FA centers ... but we wont end up with him anyway ... it think we should try to get Robin Lopez and Spencer Hawes, it'd be a good combination imo

 

OMG GUYS HOUSTON NEVER GETS ANY FREE AGENTS!!! OMG!!!!

 

DM has pulled some nice moves with 2nd rd picks and turning nothing into something... but i'm gravitating toward this line of thought... A million good small moves serve no purpose if they preclude you from making the major move u need.... imo

 

more role-players, they will fit right in with the rest of them here
