Last year, Jason Kidd was a long time removed from his HOF days. Lebron actually is the team leader in assists and he's a SF. Westbrook is arguably more of a SG than PG. I stand by my point.

There will be one GM stupid enough to pay him that much and Morey won't be it. Goran just threw the bait out there and to see if anyone would take it. If some bad GM takes the bait, just like DD would, excellent for Goran. He got free money by just throwing a number out there. If it doesn't work, he did not lose anything.

If you don't think that Goran played to the level of a $10M/yr player, then you clearly did not watch any Rockets basketball last year. If it is a 3-4 year deal, it is manageable and worth it in terms of potential risk/reward.
1-2 year deals have value due to the short length of the contract (teams want them to clear longer contracts). Give Goran a deal, hope he plays up to that level (or preferably above) for the first 1-2 years of it, and if he doesn't, easily get rid of him. It isn't like stars are itching to come here (a la Brooklyn). We might as well use our cap on good players who do want to be here.
Small sample size. No Lowry. No Kevin Martin. No C. He basically had free reign to light it up. Who's to say he isn't Darren Collison 2.0? If he regresses, we're stuck with him for years.
He is not a 10 mill per player, seven to eight max. What I don't want to see morey do is give money to guys just to give money. Keep the flexibility just in case something comes available.
who's fault is that... Its Morey's Why are you still showcasing Dragic's talent too the league, when you know he is a free-agent at the end of the year, and Lowry is still under contract. Lowry comes back from injury, and you still go with Gogi( who is not guarenteed to resign with us). And Lowry is now disgruntled and wants to be traded, because the team showed him no loyalty If Morey would have kept Dragic on the bench when Lowry returned, im sure he would have gotten a contract similar to just over the MLE. Morey did a very good job, at hiding Lowry's talent behind Aaron Brooks( and we ended up getting Lowry at a reasonable price)
I agree with most of your points. But ummmmm........I strongly disagree with 95% of this post. Dragic might be a better athlete. But defender, no. Decision maker, hell no. Dragic's out of control at times & is a below average decision maker in the clutch. He pretty much goes left all the time & can only play at one pace. Basically all the credentials of a great back up PG. His value went up when Lowry got hurt. But he's in no way a better player than a healthy Kyle Lowry. Lowry was playing out of his mind before the injury. Let's not forget this DD
Thats what they are saying yes. They have been saying this for years now for Morey. We just KNOW according to Moreys value chart Goran is gone because Morey will not sign a big contract like this to anyone unless he fits in Moreys special moneyball bracket of money/stats. I do not think Morey weighed Dragics potential as part of this process. So Dragic is most likely gone anyways.
The Rockets would be absolute fools to give Dragic $10 million per year when they don't even have a freaking superstar on the team. The guy can't even go or finish right and he wants $10 million? Imagine that, a starting pg that can't use both hands.
I am not ok with stepping back on Dragic, Budinger, and Dalembert from last season. Even taking in our rookies thats just another move sideways at best. Thats exactly what we are about to do under Morey again. Another step sideways.
