Started happening a few days ago. When i wake up, my hands are numb like how your legs get if you been sitting for a while. When it finally loses the numbness, the hands are sore for a good hour or so. Anyone else have this problem before? I normally sleep on my right arm so that might cause the circulation problem...but i have been sleeping like that all my life and never had the numbness before. Any advice or insight into this would be appreciated.
One question before I can make a further diagnosis: are you choking the chicken too long before you go to sleep?
Both hands, but primarily the right hand moreso. Its bad enough that it actuallly wakes me up earlier than normal.
Give yourself the stranger while you have the chance. Then go see a doctor to make sure you don't have and circulation problems.
unless you're sleeping on top of both hands when you wake up with numb hands, you should go to your doctor. For serious. At best, nothing is wrong.
^This. Could be a problem with blood circulation. I know that the tips of your fingers become numb when you have poor circulation. Best bet is going to the Doc.
That could be cardio vascular or even neurological. See a docotr then follow up with whatever specialists they recommend. It could be something as simple as diet or even mini migraines causing the problem, but it's best to make sure it's nothing serious first.
Get it checked. My buddy's dad had numbness in his hands not too long ago, then hey went to the ER, turned out he had a stroke and soon after passed away. Hopefully it has nothing to do with you and you're just sleeping wrong.
What type of work you do again? Some kind of manager . . . right? repeated hand motions or some such? Rocket River
He owns a restaurant. I think he's a chef. He appeared on some cooking show wearing a UT hat that was in some thread last year I think. I don't think cooking can make you numb in the morning.
Repeated hand motions like chopping etc . .. . can lead to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001469/ Not saying it is . . . just an possibility Rocket River
I had this for a while too. Truth be told, it just went away on its own. I was pretty concerned as well, but I pop my neck a **** ton and so I wouldn't have been surprised if it was a pinched nerve or something when I went to bed each night. Could get it checked out by a neurologist nonetheless for peace of mind. That or stop masturbating too much before bed.
Improper hand position whilst sleeping is one of the leading causes of carpal tunnel syndrome. A lot of people with this issue wear a head/wrist splint when they go to sleep to prevent this.
