Landry has regressed since leaving the Rockets. You really think keeping him would have been the right move, instead of selling high? Keeping Shane doesn't exactly factor into our rebuilding, now does it? You also realize that the trade was basically for a 1st rounder, not Thabeet, right? Didn't we flip that 1st rounder into DMo? Ariza turned into Lee. He quickly corrected what I think everyone realizes was a mistake.
Jermaine who? Seriously, why the F would I care about marginal players and what they think of the Rockets? Oh yeah, I bet the ballboy hates Daryl too, fire him and gut the team
So, would you rather lowball average players or overpay average players? We don't have any stars on this team. We are an average NBA team, it's the hard truth. Morey knows this and does the best he can with it. What sounds like a better strategy, lowballing average players and may lead to a few to complain when they lose their starting spot or overpay for average players and lose all cap flexibility. Morey has played it smart by maintaining cap flexibility. It may not be a sexy approach, but maintaining cap flexibility will eventually pay off with the new CBA.
Uhmmmm. And what was the cost of Camby? Oh wait it was Thabust and Flynn. I am totally missing your point.
We've also regressed as a team since then as well We traded him for Kmart & Kmart ironically didnt even play half a season last year. Who's worth more Martin or Landry? I'd say by far Landry given Martin's coming off injury and part of a firesale by the Rockets. Ask Miami & Memphis Battier's worth. He hit a game winner to help Memphis against SA the same year & this year was one of the key contributors to Miami's championship run. We traded him for Thabeet (pure scrub) and D-Mo. How much did Thabeet contribute for us? What's D-Mo's worth as a NBA player? Nothing. Outside of clutchfans, nobody cares about D-Mo lol
If i was an agent for an NBA Player, i would steer clear of Morey too no loyalty I love Dragic just like most of the fans in the city of Houston, but Lowry situation kinda hurt Morey's cred around the league.Lowry was putting up All-Star numbers at the start of the season when he was healthy( got hurt), and Lowry was kinda replaced when he was still under contract( and a pretty good PG) for a PG( in Dragic) who was in a contract year. I think many around the league will look at that, and say to themselves( i dont want that too be me). Also considering that Lowry is younger than Gogi, makes it that much worse
Of all people to use as a (very small) sample size of opinions represented by NBA players regarding the Rockets you use someone who is not important on ANY team; useless on a contender and a rebuilding team.
