Doesn't mean that he won't be traded, just that the Hornets was asking for too much. F*** the Hornets. Trying to fleece Morey. If anything, his expiring contract will be valuable at the trade deadline.

Knowing Morey, he's probably asking for an unprotected first round pick or an all-star player/high level talent on a rookie contract with Scola thrown in.

I don't have a problem with Martin playing for us, he contributes no matter what. But keeping him would mean

    1. Let Lee walk

    2. 3 SG's on the team which hinders the development of Lamb

I don't think knowledge of the team situation makes an impact on other teams' decisions. The deals are just lowball offers.

This is what we say all the time. Martin is as good as gone.

If push came to shove we could amnesty his butt. The way the rules work the highest bidder gets the player and the rockets are only on the hook for the remainder of the Salary that is not covered by the Bid. Martin has enough potential suitors out there that some team would take a big chunk of that 12 million dollar salary in hopes of landing him.

I've been told by reliable sources that Dwight Howard ordered a Big Mac burger but then changed his mind and is now deciding between a McChicken or going across the street for a shawarma.

I think he's pissed at both the front office and coaching staff. He wasn't happy about being traded to NO after inviting Morey to his wedding earlier in the off-season.

He'll be an attractive option for a team looking to avoid luxury tax at the trade deadline.

Why would we amnesty an expiring contract? If anyone is a candidate for amnesty it will be Luis Scola. However, in the end, I doubt we even use our amnesty on anyone.

Looks like Houston is keeping Kevin Martin

Ken Berger of CBS is reporting that SG Kevin Martin is expected to stay with the Rockets, despite his expiring contract.
The Rockets have reportedly had discussions about trading Martin, but now plan on keeping him and his $12.4 million expiring contract. Either the Rockets aren't getting much interest in Martin, or they're ignoring the fact he was injured and in and out of Kevin McHale's doghouse for much of last season.

And this is a perfect example of why the Rockets need a new GM. If they don't trade K-Mart, they won't have enough minutes to develop their younger players, who end up rotting on the bench.

While Morey be great at acquiring assets, he doesn't do a very good job of maintaining them afterwards.

Trading him is probably not possible without giving up a young piece in return - most teams probably think he isn't worth 12mil so they want picks/young prospects in return.
