If we get Bynum we NEED to keep K-Mart for his dead-eye shooting period. Take advantage of those double teams fo sheez

This could be the very reason why this deal can't go down until after free agency begins. The Rockets might be insisting that Bynum is signed long term.

I think these talks are legit. I'm sure Morey is investigating this from every angle. However I would be shocked if Morey helped Dwight get to the Lakers.

Also lee resigned and traded to orlando? would open the backup 2G spot for lamb, martin would need to stay for us to be competitive with bynum.

While you could be right, I'm inclined to disagree with you on this post. I think Kmart is gone & that our future guards are Lee & Lamb.

Kmart had a reputation of being injury prone prior to us acquiring him. He came here & had a couple of injury free years, but seems to be sliding back into the injury prone mode. Now is the best time to move him before he misses anymore time.

If Morey knew there was no way he was going to be able to land Howard and he could land Bynum in this deal, I'm sure he'd have no problem with it. Morey's job is to make this team better and Bynum would surely help that cause.

Our team would be similar to the current lakers.
    Bynum / Bynum.
    Gasol / DMo
    Artest / White
    Kobe/ Lamb

Not saying our players are as good just that they are similar.

With one caveat. He's not going to tap out all his assets for Bynum and get landlocked with contracts. Morey will leave himself in a position to make more very significant deals and add a significant free agent with cap space.

The only way Morey participates is if the deal leaves him in a position to build a better team than L.A.

The Rockets are stuck in a spot that is very hard to get out of. With Bynum it potentially gives us someone to build around for the long haul, and puts us on the right path. We are not winning the championship next year or the year after, however Bynum is 24 years old and just put up 18 and 12 playing next to Kobe who takes 23 shots a game. By the time we are in our window, Kobe would be done anyways. And if our goal is to win the championship, the Heat and Thunder will be who we have to get through, so I don't think improving the Lakers matters that much.

It is unfortunate that a conference rival would benefit from this move, but right now with the predicament we are stuck in, I think management has to think about the Rockets first. Even if this makes us only a 3-4 seed eventually, and the Lakers a 1-2 seed, it still puts us back on the map and back on track, while guaranteeing the Lakers nothing.

I would love for Bynum to be a rocket but on one condition we have to sign him to a extension

Yes, but that doesn't have to be next year. A 24 year old Bynum gives us a wide window, especially compared with a 34 year old Kobe.

Again, I don't see Orlando going along with this unless they get Bynum. Why would they be interested in a 33 year old player, especially one who's played almost 900 games.

Orlando is going to demand a young up and coming star, and that's not Gasol.

He was going to help them get Chris Paul.
