a rose is a rose is a rose, even at the bud

I agree with a poster above, it's time for EVERYONE to get the hell out of the closet and admit ... stuff. Quit hiding behind the different degrees. If you want another 4 with O, you lean socialist...I'd say quit leaning and stand up and proclaim your ass, "I'm a socialist!" You can't be a little socialist...well maybe you can but that wouldn't be PC.

I for one lean towards capitalism and proudly wear a tea party hat.

Btw, no fair making up a new label just so you can avoid the socialist tag.

i don't know about yawl but I'd rather pay taxes to fight wars than to see them hispanics and blacks receive their degrees so they can become the next fascist socialist commie! Want a free education? Play football or soccer or whatever those people play!

If you read your link, you will note they are not offering anything the USA doesn't offer.

    We give that to anyone.

Another thing, it seems you missed the entire point of my original post, AND failed at your retort. I suggest less steroids, more reading. Let me know how it works out. Later.

I think the ultra fundamentalist uneducated tea party is a worse label than the socialist label.
Corporations are not people friend. Capitalism is synonymous with life-sucking greed, I'm looking more for a middle ground.

This argument doesn't really make a lot of sense to me. The fact that you can go get more education that can then get you a job doesn't make the BA much better.

It's pretty universally recognized that a high school diploma alone is pretty useless these days, even though it's a step you can take en route to getting a BS in engineering that would set you up for a nice career.

Means its not about the subject, its about the way you learn, the completeness of the materials, and the way you are assessed. Also, skills aren't necessarily valued by whether they happen to provide a better life for people within a certain economy and borders. Some people want to paint and don't care if they are employable.

More dangerous: when schools get in the business of making you obedient. There is plenty of research into how this method of teaching directly affects the behavior of potential voters in a democracy.

Everything you say is absolutely correct in the context of America in 2012 though.

    At what cost?

Your self-high5 posts are very lame. Why are you so obsessed with the fact that I used hgh when it dramatically improved my health and doesn't even require a prescription anymore?

Maybe you're mad cause you can't ask me to leave the country like you do everyone else you disagree with?

Well, personally, I'm a social democrat.

See the distinction is that social democrats (even more to the left than your standard center-left Democrat) believe in working within the system of liberal democracy and capitalism to make it better rather than destroying it from the outside. It's a crucial distinction because, some of the most powerful people in the world are social democrats, and the fact that they still believe in gradual reformist movements within capitalism are why there haven't been as many attacks on the system as there should be, given the complete failure of unregulated capitalism.

By that, I mean people like Francois Hollande (an avowed social democrat) to Wen Jiabao, who definitely leans that way. You want to know why there are different "labels"? You should first begin by thanking the lucky stars that these categories exist. If everyone were dumped into a socialist camp that didn't believe in Fabian reformism, things would be much uglier for the facade of beliefs you still hold about the strength of Tea Party-style capitalism.

Wen could single-handily dump key debts that China holds in American institutions, flushing it all on the market, and cause a spike in yields that could cause a major debt crisis. He doesn't because he leans towards social democracy, and not a pure socialist transition to a communist state.

This is why the "labels" exist. However, for the purposes of engaging your bravado, you can assume I'm a socialist, or a communist, or whatever the f**k you want. If you want to engage in a debate with your ideology versus mine, I welcome it. I'd just like to note that it takes absolutely nothing to avow your camp on this forum, but I'd like to see the something that it takes to defend your beliefs.

    Or the organized religious.

Tell me, does the internal contradiction burn? I can at least respect pure libertarians for the lucidity and coherence of their set of beliefs.

Then why is Ron Paul a presidential candidate? He wants to force America to adhere to his political ideology.
Oh wait. Its wrong if everyone else does it, but its okay if a Libertarian does it because he's right.
Sounds like mudslinging politics to me.

You don't want to pay the price? Then you shouldn't get any of the benefits of being an American citizen either. You don't want to pay taxes? Then no benefits for you.
Contribute or get lost, its not socialist, its basic input/output.

Where have you met pure libertarians? They are a rare breed only existing in online habitats, such as message boards, the comment sections of news articles, tumblr, etc. I have yet to meet a pure libertarian out the in the wild. I haven't even seen their droppings such as pamplets or leaflets or heard their call on any broadcasting medium.

Well, Ayn Rand and the anti-religious types she inspired, even if I hated their convictions, were logically consistent on a certain level---"No Gods, no kings, only man." That is what I mean by pure libertarian.

This new breed of religious libertarianism gets on my nerves a bit. "Man should be free to bow before God."
