He's a special talent. Also, playing PF shouldn't be labeled as a bad thing. Judging by his skillset, that should be an added bonus to his game for being versitile enough to play the PF position. I'm excited about these new players

    Yes.

Jones has a prototypical PF body, is an excellent rebounder and physical defender, decent shotblocker, can play the passing lanes, and has a huge wingspan. Also can score in the post.

He played 4 his whole college career. Everything about him screams out PF at NBA level. But because he can shoot the 3 pointer and can beat a PF with his first step, he's projected as a SF?!?!?

A 6'10 252lb guy with a 7'3 wingspan who is extremely strong, good at holding his post position and good at defending other PFs is a no-brainer as to his position. Obviously he's a point guard

I'm no professional on comparisons, but
does anyone else see something similar to Carl Landry?

    He reminds me of Landry.

He doesn't have that same mid range game that Landry does.

He looked scared of the press, and a little timid, I hope that is not how he plays.

game and demeanor reminds me of josh smith but not as explosive

    josh smith
    6'8.25" in shoes, wingspan 7', reach 8'10.5", vert 32.5, max 39.5, agil 11.43, sprint 3.24

    t jones
    6'9.25", 7'2.25", 8'11", 29.5, 34.5, 11.5, 3.4

both left handed and are not known for their jump shot

Out of the three picks...the least likely to stay a Rocket. His ability to play defense will help him carve out a nice career...Reminds me of a Michael Petrius...

Thanks for posting. I didn't realize that Jones had that kind of handle with the ball in his hands.

I just posted this on the previous page. Great video. Which is why I mentioned above that being able to play the PF position should be an added bonus to his game. I can't determine who's most versitile on the team out of Royce and Jones. But I'm excited to see them play together this season.

Van Gundy said we were due for some luck. Well we got some. I'm shocked that a player with his skillset slid to #18.

He is a very good defending prospect with solid offensive moves... is very underrated given that White and Lamb are more in the spotlight

    Just wondering

ESPN lists Jones at 6'10".25, Yahoo lists him at 6'8" and other sources list him at 6'9", I am assuming all are with shoes. ESPN lists him as a PF, while Yahoo list him as a SF. I realize he played both positions in college.

Which info should we believe, I know believe most will say ESPN?

    Believe his pre draft measurements. 6'9.5 w/shoes - 252 - SF/PF

Could be a better defensive Courtney Lee as a Forward
