Many teams are going to be upset about passing on this kid. If he can develop a decent shot, he can potentially be a Kevin Love-lite.

With respect to Royce in the P&R, I posted something earlier that's already been buried on the front page, but I really want to try and see him work as a ballhandler with Scola or Motiejunas as the screener. His court vision is so good, and his handle is tight enough that I can see him really being effective here, since the other team will most certainly have to guard him with a big-body PF due to his rebounding and post-up skills.

He might also be very effective as a roll-man; his hands are phenomenal, and you have to envision him being a bit of a freight train; he's so wide with a low center of gravity that he'll be able to muscle through guys if he gets a head start, and I have full confidence he'll be able to make the secondary pass once help slides over.

As for defenses sagging off of him, they did that quite a bit in college, looking at his tapes. Much credit to him, he didn't respond by jacking up a bunch of bad jumpshots, but by instead running dozens of dribble handoffs with his wings to get them uncontested jumpshots. The dribble handoff was a staple for the Rockets last year, and I can't tell you how much Dalembert, Patterson and Hill pissed me off by setting piss poor screens. Take a look at the clip below and you can easily envision him running the same action with Dragic, Lee and Lamb.

Upset about passing on him maybe. Kevin Love-lite? Not in a million years.

Here we go with Houston fans again and their priorities. Making a big deal about some guy with a anxiety disorder and likely to be drafted as a role player. Meanwhile their top pick who was drafted at 12 and has some ability to become a pretty decent star or replacement for Kevin Martin is being overlooked for this role player. SMH.

He's definitely forcing some passes which is not good and it's not going to fly at this level, but his overall passing skills and sense is interesting.

I'm concerned about his defense. We all know that's what's holding back Morris last year.

Thanks for that information. I've been wondering the whole time why we were so desperate to move up 2 spots that we gave up Dalembert. Hopefully, Lamb is good enough to justify this.

He won't play PG, but there are many PFs and Cs who have the ball in their hands a lot...

Webber, Divac, Walton, Sabonis, Miller ... hell, Anthony Mason did, too.

    btw, let's not forget Lebron.

You just have to implement one of the many inverted post offenses ... and no necessarily every trip down the court.

I really like the Tim Duncan play that they do. In the video you linked, it is the most run play and very simple. Royce will be dribbling at the arc and a shooter will cut out behind him for a shuffle pass and Royce will then pick the shooter's defender for a catch and shoot 3.

Duncan does that with Ginobili on the wing, sometimes, where Duncan has the passer and screener at the same time.

Royce could execute that with Martin or Lamb.

You should go back a few pages to stuff that both I and Cyclones wrote. Or you could watch videos we, and others, have posted.

What do the people think of him becoming an SF? Seems to me like he's an upgraded version of Morris, could he translate into the 3 better than Morris could?

He can't shoot a lick. Ish Smith/ Rajon Rondo type shooter.

Funny thing is, had we just lost to Pheonix instead of making a last minute comeback the last game of the season, we would have had the 13th pick and no need to trade down to 12. LOL.

I really hope he becomes the star, to me he looks like a leader, talks like one, seems comfortable in tough situations like interviews.

To me, in the press conference, he stood out as a guy that has always been the best player on the floor - totally confident, I did not see that in the other two.

Royce could become a stronger, more assertive version of prime Lamar Odom.
