Ya gotta excuse DD's frequent frustrations with basketball. He's still bitter that the writers of Teen Wolf didn't have his character, Chubs, roll off the pick he set for Michael J Fox and get the ball for a game winning jumper.

I think we have different definitions of "amazing". Come on, don't overrate PPat. I do acknowledge DM's ability to draft well in the later stages but we'll see how he did this time. I actually like White and Lamb but time will tell.

If you take three All-Star-level talents at 70-80% (avg. 75%) bust rate, then you have a 57.815% chance of having at least one All-Star on your hands. I don't know about you guys, but I like those odds.

I think "draft for need" is always a bad idea. If there was a potential All-Star level center left at 70-80% bust rate, then Morey would no doubt have gone for it. There wasn't. A potential Defensive Stopper(tm) at 70-80% bust rate is not even remotely worth drafting for need when there are potential All-Stars left to be had at 70-80% bust rate. If we just wanted a defensive stopper we would have just kept Dalembert at 0% bust rate.

unfortunately the ability to take 3 all-star level talents would require 3 straight years of horrible basketball, and likely, the general manager/coach at the start of the 3 year period won't be there by the end.

Except we just drafted 3 All-Star level talent with 70-80% bust rate. If we were picking in the top 3 we would have gotten All-Star level talents with a substantially lower bust rate. Many people here obviously wanted players with 20-30% chance of turning into rotation players with no chance of All Stardom but fill a need, but I am not one of them. I think that would have been a bum deal. Just saying.

Exactly, and these mantras are getting really tired. At some point progress has to happen, the running in a circle is not getting us anywhere but the same place we have been. I am starting to wonder about the mental health of the Rocket's brain trust. Either they think that Rocket's fans are the dumbest bunch in the world and they can keep "playing" them forever, or they are really clueless themselves. I can't decide which.
