It's no secret that Morey believes that the Future of the Big Men(tm) is in shorter faster big men with long standing reach. Obviously, many of the people here do not buy into this school of thinking (ironically, Morey's future big men blueprint exactly describes Dwight Howard).

Personally, though, I would start Leuer at center over 2Pat. No offense to 2Pat's skills or talent, but Leuer has that self confidence that Parsons and Motiejunas have to go with 2Pat's brains. I wouldn't be surprised if Leuer quickly earns McHale over and start if Camby does not re-sign.

We should just trip people out and start Boykins at Center.

We'll pick somebody up, and I'm sure Camby will be back.

I really like some of the young C's that are available right now- Hibbert (obviously), Ian mahinmi, McGee, the Lopez boys, and Hawes. Plus Chris Kamen, not sure if he's what he want but he is another option.

Kevin Martin to the Bulls for one of their big men makes a lot of sense for both teams.

Hahaha I would love to see the Rockets do something insane one game and go with a lineup like

    Boykins
    Gogi
    Lamb
    Lee
    Parsons

for five minutes. Just run around crazy. Yeah, you'd lose, but it would be fun.

I was thinking this morning about whether the Bulls would do Noah/Brewer for Scola/Martin.

You can't do that! That would be going against the sacred rules of conventional wisdom! In all seriousness, though, I am a little surprised that the convention wisdom says 6'10.5" 230 lbs. and 7'0" 240 lbs. are too small to play center.

Off-season has just started, Mr. Feigen, chill. We draft for BPA and address the other needs with the 4 months of off-season we got. Seriously, my gooodness.

We have Greg Smith and Jon Leurer on the roster, plus a possibility or retaining Camby.

Why would you even speculate that 2Pat is going to start at center?

I asked Feigen in his chat just now about Asik. His reply:

    I'd be okay with it.

Wouldn't be shocked (or mad) about a --

    Dragic/Livingston
    Lee/Lamb
    Parsons/White/Jones
    Pau/Montie/Jones
    Noah/Camby/Leuer

    rotation.

    But that's pure speculation.

I think Parsons can guard most centers in the league, but I am not sold on Lamb or Lee's abilities to guard power forwards. You have to remember that Lamb is slight of build. While he is known for his defense, he is a lightweight and players with more power can post him up and rub him off big-man screens.

Interesting tidbit for those who can remembering that far back: Kevin Martin was "know for his defense" coming out of college, too. Even his first year he was considered a "good defender". Then by the 2nd year the perception did a full 180. He was just too slight to defend in the NBA. Are we going to see a parallel in Lamb here? Haha.

LMAO! You love that guy. I think they can get him. It takes Lowry and Scola to get him though. Morey should go ahead and see if the Lakers want that.

I'd have zero problem giving up Lowry and Scola for him in a vacuum. The problem is other moves would be needed for the team to be a contender with Gasol. If those moves can't be made there is no point in getting Gasol. He gives you a very short window to compete.

Because camby isn't on our roster and smith probably isn't ready. He said as of right now, not saying thats how it will be

I say we resolve the logjam at PF with another PF.
    '
Magic played all 5 positions and was 6'9 so we can just implement an all PF offense with interchanging parts at guard of dragic, lee, lowry.

So 1 guard and 4 PF. I'm sold (maybe maybe no). This is wave of future ..morey is one step ahead of your ass type thinking.
