Does Terrence Jones remind anyone else of Terrence Morris? Does anyone else remember Terrence Morris? Am I getting to be that old guy who remembers short lived bench warmers from over a decade ago that the majority of (living) rocket fans have never heard of?

Seriously though, I think Jones was a year away from sharing the fate of Morris. Morris went to Maryland as a big name recruit who would have been a 1st rounder out of highschool. From there his draft stock went down each year he played in college, until after his senior year he was a 2nd rounder. Also, Morris was a well built athletic perimeter skilled 6-8 tweener forward.

Anyway, they remind me of each other a lot. I've liked Terrence Jones for a while now, but I liked Morris when they got him too, so I am pretty sure I am wrong again.

He's a lefty with range. Looks good. JUst hope he can make it in the rotation. Also hope all these guys have a high rev motor.

    Interesting comp.

I think Jones is better around the basket. Like Morris, he has his low motor moments, but I don't think he's "soft" like Morris was.

Also, Jones' numbers declined because the team added so much talent around him (sandwiched on the front line by the #1 and #2 overall picks!). Morris was supposed to take over that Maryland team when Francis left, but proved he was really a role player, even at the college level.

When Jones played well, KU played well. We was an important part of that team, and still carved out a big role in a crowded rotation. Rebounds, block-shots, defense, athletic ability, size, and offensive potential. That is what i want from a PF prospect. Jones has all of it. He's a better PF prospect than Patterson or Morris. What i don't know is how hard of a worker he is. If he works hard, he has the telent to be a top 10 PF in this league. What more can you ask for with the 18th pick?

You're not exaggerating sbout josh smith, but he really doesn't compare to him. I do agree he's a better prospect than patterson and morris. He's athletic, but not josh smith athletic, but not many are. I think he can play more 3 than morris.

Rodney Rodgers??? GTFO here with that. Rodgers was a not so athletic undersized role player.

TJ is super athletic and has the skill set and physical tools to be a star in this league. He's strong enough to play with 4's and smooth enough to play the 3. The only thing similar between Rodgers and Jones is that they're both left handed and their jumper looks similar.

I honestly think Jones could be the 2nd coming of Shawn Kemp (Supersonic version). I hope the Rockets brass makes Jones ditch the 3 pointer and helps him develop into a true 4. He should be playing inside and focus on learning post moves and playing behind his back, getting good positioning and making his jumper from 10-15 automatic.

Very similar to Patterson by the numbers. Terrence Jones is 1/2 inch taller, has an inch wider arm-span, an inch higher vertical, and weighs about 10 lbs. more than PP. If Patterson was a slightly bigger Landry, Jones is a slightly bigger Patterson. They both returned to school instead of being top ten picks, opting to improve their game. They both transitioned from being the main man to playing a role between two great freshmen (Cousins and Wall for PP, Davis and MKG for TJ). That makes it easy for them as rookies to not immediately have large roles, they are used to role reductions. It also means they are ready to be called on as a main guy when that time comes. PP is a hard working professional, something that people overlook because of his poor season recovering from injuries. TJ has shown lapses in his UK career, but also came up big when it mattered most in the Tourney. I like both players but their size and position make them almost duplicative. What this does is it allows us to package either TJ or PP in a trade knowing we still will retain a solid player.

Rogers was pretty explosive bro. He wasn't quick but he could really rock the rim. And there is NO SEATTLE SHAWN KEMP IN TERRENCE JONES.

    T. Jones and Pat are nothing alike, looking at body measurements is completely pointless hwn judging a player's role.

I have a sneaking suspicion that out of the group of Morris, White, Motiejunas and Jones, Terrence will get the most playing time next year, mainly because the things he's going to do best will not require him to have the ball, much like how the One Man Boy Band Chandler Parsons was able to carve out a niche by getting boards and playing defense. Terrence seems to be cut from the same cloth, and I have to say that I'm looking forward to busting out Portlandia references next year.

Everyone needs to stop crapping there pants about the size of the players we draft. If they turn into solid NBA players who help us win who cares. Drafting a awful center who will never be more than a back up would get us nowhere. The only franchise center in this draft is Anthony Davis. Andre Drummond could possibly become a franchise center but he is raw.

Yes. He was asked by the hosts if Dallas screwed up their last pick with the trade and he said "Maybe" in a sly way.

Lol...yes...infact...it was really clear they believed that Zeller was going to be available...but...the Cavs swooped yet again to offer the Mavs 1 first and 2 really high second round picks...

Dallas did us a favor. Cleveland not so much.

Anyways, I'd take Jones over Zeller any day.

I really like his tenacity. That in and of itself will take him far.

He is the bigger more talented version of Patrick Patterson. People dont know this yet but this guy will replace Patterson. Everything Patterson did in college this guy did better except in a few minor areas.
