In my opinion, DM has been excellent so far, all things considered.

It saddens to me to see the reactions of our fans here.

What else could DM have done that he did not try? Would you have preferred we tanked last year or the year before or even this coming season?

Based on what he had to work on, I give this year's draft an A-. He made the best case out of the cards he had to play. NBA is about the hardest league to put a championship roster together.

We know he is still trying to land a big name star but there is no guarantee. So in the meantime, he is stacking up his chips and I applaud him for that.

So for those complaining and throwing one-liners, what would you have done differently (WWYHDD) if you were DM?

One minor tweak is I would have liked to have seen them take Zeller at 16. You likely would still be able to get Royce White at 18 and if not, you would still be able to get Jones.

I like Zeller too but when you get to that spot in the draft, the rule often espoused by GMs is to take the best player available.

PS. Yes, I love the Lamb pick as well. Now we have pieces in place to make us more flexible.

    You two must be related.

You mean to tell me that Morey couldn't have called Toronto with an offer of:

    Kyle Lowry
    #12

    and gotten the 8th pick?

Now, I like the draft we had (minus Jones). I'm just saying. This dude always hypes up the possibility of a big draft day deal..everything there in perfect position....

Then after the draft, we hear some BS reason why something fell through.

Stop wasting our time with trade talk Daryl! You NEVER pull the trigger!!

With that being said, we DID draft our 2012 starting SG in Jeremy Lamb. Happy about that.

Maybe Morey did that, we don't know. Maybe Morey didn't like Drummond because of his poor work ethic.

One thing you can be sure of: Morey tried to do a lot of things - in the end we picked up 3 players with the potential to be stars some day. Obviously he has to do some maneuvering with the roster before the start d the season, but Morey is always trying to do the maximum for the roster within reason.

I actually place a portion of the blame on McHale. He has to have some input into player personnel decisions, especially since his W-L record is on the line. Another mediocre at best season, another trip to the lottery, and McHale is gone, with literally no chance at another head coaching job in the NBA.

*He* should have said... "I can't win with this unbalanced roster. I need guys that will defend the paint and guys that can score down low in the fourth quarter."

Hard to put a roster together when you have 1) no high picks, 2) no meaningful cap room, and 3) no stars want to play for your team. The last one is not Morey's fault, but the other two are. New Orleans and Portland have rebuilt in less than a year while we're still on the mediocrity treadmill.

No, those are Les faults. He insists on rebuilding while being competitive. I am sure Morey would've preferred to tank or at least play all the young guys and let them lose the games.

Oh, so maybe something like this:

Alex Kennedy: The Toronto Raptors will make a hard push to sign Steve Nash, according to sources. That's one reason Toronto didn't deal #8 for Kyle Lowry. Twitter

Agree, I will give DM a B+ though. Curious to see how he packages current players and how these three new players pan out if they were not traded later.

    a) Just tank, tank hard with determination.
    b) Not wasting time on ridiculous trades involving superstars.
    c) Quit if the boss has another idea.
