Now that the draft has ended, who do you think will be our significant starting C acquisition either by trade or FA signing...my picks are either Noah, Varejao or Asik. What do you think guys?
Spencer Hawes is another option. He's probably the best unrestricted free agent center out there. Playing only an average of 24 mpg he manage to average a shade under 10 pts and 7 rpg. While also adding 1.3 bpg. Not to mention he's still young at 24 yrs old, and could come at a relative reasonable price.
We're likely to resign Camby. If nothing else, we'll have Camby and Greg Smith? I'm kinda curious to see more of Smith.
I thought Hibbert was a UFA but he's restricted which is a damper. I guess pursue Howard, Asik. No one else is at all intriguing.
That's what I've been saying! Sure he can block shots, but he looks like a total stiff out there. He can move well enough, but I don't think he's anything I'd be eager to trade players for. He looks like a decent backup is all.
I t understand why people don't bring up Hawes passing skills when they talk about dude averages almost 3 assists in only 24 minutes that's reallllly good and plus only 1.5 turnovers
Here's a list of FA centers (according to Hoopsworld) Restricted: Roy Hibbert, Indiana Pacers –($3.7 million Qualifying Offer) Brook Lopez, Brooklyn Nets –($4.2 million Qualifying Offer) JaVale McGee, Denver Nuggets ($3.5 million Qualifying Offer) Robin Lopez, Phoenix Suns – ($4.0 million Qualifying Offer) Omer Asik, Chicago Bulls – Not sure about the QO. Unrestricted: Chris Kaman Marcus Camby Spencer Hawes Kwame Brown Aaron Gray Jermaine O’Neal Nazr Mohammed Semih Erden Ben Wallace Hamed Haddadi Mehmet Okur Greg Stiemsma Daniel Orton Hasheem Thabeet DeSagana Diop Ryan Hollins Jason Collins Joel Przybilla Eddy Curry Tony Battie Greg Oden Jamaal Magloire Kyrylo Fesenko Mickell Gladness Mikki Moore Dan Gadzuric Thats Slim Pickin's .... Only two guy's on that list I'd consider bringing in. I know some like Asik a lot , Im not sold.
Ryan Hollins can "move well enough," Omer Asik is an elite level rebounder and defender. He is tremendous at everything from fighting bigs in the post to blitzing the pick-and-roll beyond the 3 point line and recovering.
If the Dwight move fails, how do you propose we acquire him? Straight up sign an offer sheet and hope Chicago doesn't match? Or some sort of S&T deal?? For who?
Roy Hibbert, Indiana Pacers – $2.6 million – Restricted ($3.7 million Qualifying Offer) Marcus Camby, Houston Rockets – $12.9 million – Unrestricted Spencer Hawes, Philadelphia 76ers – $4.1 million – Unrestricted Omer Asik, Chicago Bulls – $1.9 million – Unrestricted
Its funny how I made a thread on entitled Realistic Free Agents Rockets should look at a week in a half ago and I got roasted when the name SPENCER HAWES was brought up....y'all are some hypocrites
