(Royce White would have been picked by Dallas)

I can NOT believe that someone would take Tyler Zeller over Royce White. Boy you must be outside your mind...

Leonard isn't likely to fill anyone's hole at center as a rookie. You draft him and you still pretty much have the same need.

And, as I said, the season is months away. Free agency hasn't even started yet.

I dont think it was out of the realm of possibility he lasts one more pick. After Dallas already has Dirk Nowitzki at PF. They dont value converted PF to SF's like we do. I could argue about with you all night about how Royce White could drop one more pick to the Rockets later. Its so small a jump I would rather not on such a small thought.

It was reported that Dallas wanted Royce White badly, look it up fancy pants.

Also, look up some Royce White. Sounds like you haven't a clue...

We'll see. You are right that there's a lot of time left.

But the logjam scares me and has me thinking we drafted guys just to trade them in the future. Sometimes I worry that Morey is too much of an asset collector instead of a team builder.

Its hard to build a team with only mid round draft picks.

Harder to build a team also when you are taking guys with the hopes that other teams will take them at a later date as well.

Yeah guys, let's be more patient. We've only been runningbin place for three years. I say we muddle around the middle of the first round for at least a few more.

Four more years! Four more years!

What "impatient" draft picks or trades would you have made on draft night?

Would have taken Royce. Think him and Morris could battle it out for back up 3...

Jones is who i'm having the problems with here. Would have taken any big man (even Melo) over him at this point because this one guy is going to make PT hard to come by.

I'm sure he's a good player and as odd as it sounds this is not a good thing because dividing PT between Jones, Patterson, Scola, Motiejunas OR Parsons/Jones/White/ Morris is not going to be good. Someone is going to be disgruntled...

    Carl is right.

As of right now, if all three first round picks are signed and we bring D-Mo over, we'll be "committed to" SEVENTEEN players. This does not include re-signing Dragic.

If they are intent on doing that, we'll be three players over the maximum number we can carry.

If in fact, a center is going to be targeted in free agency (Camby, Asik, Kaman?), we'll need to move at least four players.

SOMETHING has to give. Sure, it could be something as simple as eating Fortson, Brockman (or Livingston) and Simpson's salaries by releasing them. But, I know that's definitely not the plan.

There's no question Morey will be attempting to make a couple of deals and get the roster down to fifteen (by doing the three for one or four for two type of deals, I assume).

By getting Livingston and picking up Fortson's option, it won't be surprising if Lowry is still moved. This combined with the stack of PF's we have and there's still likely some nice possible options out there.

I think it's pretty clear that somebody is gonna get shipped at some point this summer. Les, Morey and McHale said they didn't have the urgency to shift everyting around, but they are just telling the other teams that they are not gonna take 50 cents (or even 85 cents) on the dollar just to "balance the roster." They'll make trades just like they already did with Budinger and Dalembert.

I don't think I'd taken Fab Melo over Jones just because of position. Hell, I am not sure you are not better off sticking Terrence Jones as your center today than playing Fab Melo there. Jones just has such a higher skill level. All Melo does is block shots in the middle of a zone (which he won't get to play in the NBA).

Hey if they get the trades done and balance the roster than bravo. I'm not writing it off yet but I just think it may be better to draft guys you plan on using then just picking guys up as bait for other teams.

I hope I'm wrong. Maybe they do really like White and Jones and the guys they are planning to ship off are guys they are disappointed in like Morris.

I guess some of these guys are going to Rio Grande any ways with our history, but it's going to be a mess if this is the Roster they start the season with.
