The "indications" where only rumors, no one knows what they wanted. If the right guys are available you take them.
Failure so far, could change, but I'm not hopeful. There is not a combination of players on this roster get Howard. They are going to need a center and we don't have one to offer not did we get one for our own team.
Yes , at this point its a complete and total disaster unless they can make a deal for an established star .... If Les allows the team to ... tank , thats a silver lining. Tho I dont see that as an option.
I like the picks but everyone had high hopes of acquiring a star. The guys we drafted should be solid to build around but not anyone that can take us to the next level. If we keep these guys I would give them a C.
Ok its a failure. LOL! You will be happy with Lamb though. He will settle out of this dust as the bright spot. Morey you have some explaining to do on over promising and not delivering. Thanks for Lamb though. Dont screw it up by flipping him and leaving us with all these power forwards.
I actually don't have a problem with the players they picked at all -- I like all three guys a lot. I just have a problem with how these players fit onto the current roster. Now, I agree that we may make more moves, but I am also somewhat afraid they will not be able to and that Morey does not see the stupidity of burrying one's "assets" deep on the bench to where they can not help you win or increase in value. I love Morey's drafting over the years and I think he is awesome at finding solid role players and values in trades -- but I don't think he properly considers how rosters fit together and what mismatched rosters do to the value and careers to the players on the roster.
McHale 3 days ago on what he'd like: “From my standpoint, getting bigger, playing above the rim, protecting the rim, rebounding and blocking shots (are) always a good thing,” McHale said. “I still think that being able to protect that rim with shot blocking and rebounding is a huge thing.” Mission accomplished there buddy!
Picks were great. All the unnecessary hype around dwight howard, gasol, bynum, Dwill got people's hopes up way too high, but in the end these picks will prove to be solid.
I am shocked to see so many people say it is a disaster. For what it's worth, I voted for "maybe, maybe not", but none of the options really rang true to what I honestly feel. Tonight was by no means a disaster, but I didn't like it either.
You guys are freaking out!!! 3-12 months from now, you might be able to pass any sort of educated opinion on this draft. Until then, you're seeing a portion of the overall act. If you renounce this team now, don't come back 1-2 months from now if/when we make additional moves that all of a sudden MAKE SENSE. Seems like close to 50% of Clutch'ers were screaming to TANK...NOW!!!! Well....if you're one of them...what the hell are you complaining about?!? It's gonna be OK. Wait til we're finished before freaking out.
abso-falcon-lutely. said that long before tonight. still believe it to be true. building a team and finding the best available player are not the same thing.
what? there's no tank in this. hopefully there are moves to bring in real veteran help... but if there's not, it's pretty much the same team as last year with 3 new young guys fighting for minutes. should be right about the same as last season if they leave this roster intact -- which again, i'm not saying they'll do.
