Centers will always have knocks on them. Cousins, Greg Monroe, Kevin Love, Lamarcus Aldridge started off in March as potential #1 picks but then got knocked down as the draft hubbub went on. Conversely, Tyrus Thomas and Tristan Thompson came on late and picked up a lot of hype which people now probably regret. The lesson to me is that you stick to your scouting acumen and ignore the scuttlebutt. It can go either way.
If you don't know anything about him then why don't you just ask for input instead of labelling him and saying "The dude looks stiff, post game looks awful, and he rarely dunks."? You came off a bit ignorant and my first post was a neutral answer. The next post was not directly aimed at you, it was a shot at so many people coming here and saying things without actually watching the guys. And it doesn't take a lot of evaluation skills or talent to see he's not stiff or has no skillset.
Different body types. Thabeet is totally awkward. Drummond has very good athleticism for a big man. I am pretty surprised at how bad Thabeet turned out. I think it all boils down to mental makeup. Andre Drummond from what I have gathered has a stronger mental foundation and work ethic than Thabeet.

Tim Duncan was 17 in his freshman season. He shot the ball markedly better. Was a genuine chance to score on his own in the post, and had soft touch at the ring. Plus he blocked far more shots than Drummond. I think it's fair enough for people to be "not sold" on Drummond. He cries out "bust" in so many ways. Sure, he might pan out, but he might well be the slightly worse version of Deandre Jordan? Massive risk! Could be massive reward.
So you use the fact he looks stiff to you as a qualifier in your argument - in that instance the way someone looks matters....but when someone refutes that with their own judgement of how he moves, you have that r****ded response. I bet you're a joy to converse with, with all that rational thought process coursing through your arguments.
If this guy works out with Hakeem, with his athleticism, he'll be a superstar. If he coasts then he's a bust. He's just THAT athletically gifted that the only thing holding him back is his motor and work ethic. Guys you are looking at a potential NBA superstar if he pans out. Let's pretend Javale was smart and knew basic basketball fundamentals and actually utilized his talents. That's what we're getting with this pick.
It all depends on where he goes I feel. If he goes to Sacto...there is a pretty good chance he'll bust...if he comes here though I feel like there is a good chance he'll at least be decent. As for Duncan, all I'm saying is Drummond was just a freshman. Yeah some guys go into college and tear it up but sometimes that's just not the case for whatever reason.

I hope we do not have to take him. I hope someone so good falls to us or we move up so high that another guy is taken. Someone Morey likes a bit better.
Drummond is a smoke screen. If we get #5 we pick Lillard, if we get #2 we pick Robinson. We are not picking Drummond, who is dropping out of the top 10.
Anyone who even lets a comparison to Thabeet breeze through their mind as possibly equitable is a damn idiot. He may not realize his full potential and therefore be considered a bust....but he doesn't have one damn thing in common with Thabeet. Not game style, not age, not personalities, not body type, not athleticism......not one damn thing. You are an idiot if you think there is some parallel to be drawn there.
We aren't drafting Lillard....that makes zero sense. You wouldn't draft an potentially average PG just because he is the best in the crap PG draft. At #5 he is a reach....Drummond won't slip past #8.
I think a lot of ya'll are over doing the bust card on drummond, like its shown up there andre is at least going to be as athletic as someone in the likes of dwight and deAndre jordan, now jordan has no skills and has got around on straight D and Dunks and guess what he's doing fine. I don't see drummond being worse then Jordan if he is go ahead and flame me..but man im telling you.
