^ yeah Rza is like Tarantino when it comes to like the kung fu movies.. You should check out his commentary track on 'The 36th Chamber Of Shaolin'.. Very good stuff, and informative...

Intrigued, Crowe makes for a good villian and if done right could be HUGE.

I appreciate RZA bringing back memories of the Shaw Brothers, etc. But he's really going to be the blacksmith in feudal China?!

From those youtube clips, the action looked far too choppy and too close up. I hope he doesn't do that on the movie.

I guess since this thread started in 2010 this movie is languishing in production limbo. Just from reading the description of it I don't much of a good feeling about it. I mean a black guy as the hero versus a white guy as the villain in feudal China? This thing just sounds like it is going to be Forbidden Kingdom with more blood and rapping.

A lot of movies take 2 or so years to complete including post production. This was greenlighted in May of 2010 so it's nothing out of the ordinary really.

I could barely make out what's going on??? But from what I saw, it doesn't look too bad, Batista looks like the stand out so far... Is this coming out later this year???

Yeah generally I'd think a lower budget film that takes over 2 years first production to theater is either like a perfectionist indie project, or they don't have a good feeling about it.

There's just enough current or former A-listers in the soundtrack and acting. They'll make some money off the soundtrack. But its what it looks like - borrowing from Quentin Tarantino's lot to make your own film.

It'll probably not catch on too big mainstream, but be more an underground hit with the urban and hip hop crowd kinda like Ghost Dog.

Looks good but the the English language sound stupid and awkward in this piece.

I agree, I don't mind Rza speaking English and him coming from writing sick rhymes from Wu Tang Clan I'm interested to see how the dialogue will play out.. This could be one fun ride at the movies... Russell Crowe and Batista in one movie??? WOW!!!

    hhhmmm I thought all RZA did was produce . . . .
    Lyrics was everyone else
Everytime the RZA got on the mike. . it was kind of painful . . like Dre

Looks better than I thought it would . .
