Another "set-up move" for us Rockets trade- Ppat, Morris, Dallas pick (possibly) Get- Veucevic, 15 Lakers trade- Gasol Get- Iggy, Ppat Sixers trade- Iggy, Veucevic, 15 Get- Gasol, Morris, Dallas pick Maybe the Kings would then accept Lowry, 12, 18 and Veucevic for 5 and Hayes.
http://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/6108196 ATL gets: P.Gasol, M.Morris, S.Llull LAL gets: Z. Randolph, M. Conley MEM gets: K. Martin, L. Scola, J. Teague HOU gets: J. Smith, M. Williams, J. McRoberts
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7ra9sxd Houston sends: Kyle Lowry Luis Scola Kevin Martin Marcus Morris picks: 12,16,18,44 Charlotte sends: Kemba Walker Gerald Henderson 2nd overall pick desagnia diop Magic send: Dwight Howard 76ers send: Andre Iguoldala Thaddeus Young Philadelphia gets Scola and Martin, who are a cheaper combo then Young and Iguoldala, plus Martin is an expiring. Magic get the 2nd overall pick to replace Howard, as well as a young backcourt and a lotto pick from last year. Diop is merely for salary matching, but has an expiring contract. Charlotte gets a young point guard, a young wingman (which they need sorely), and three first round picks. For a team with virtually nothing outside of Biyombo, that's not too shabby. Houston gets Dwight Howard, we all know why this is good, as well as Iguoldala, who is an all around solid player, with only two years left on his contract. This would put us out of the running to sign Williams (unless he decided to take less money), but we would still be able to put up a decent 8 man rotation with what little salary space we would have.
So Charlotte trades their two best players and the #2 for Kyle Lowry, Thaddues Young(?) and 3 picks in the teens? Not even close. Henderson was the lone bright spot on that team, and they're not going to give up on Kemba already.
I admit, it was a bit of a stretch, but I doubt Kemba or Henderson is that valued. Kemba was picked in the teens, no? They essentially get that pick back and what is probably Kemba's ceiling, a good point guard. Henderson I'll concede that they would probably want to keep. But he's easily replaceable. There are rumors the Bobcats want to trade the 2nd overall pick. Unless they're really high on someone particular, I don't see why they wouldn't trade one pick for three. Sure, they move down 10 spots, but there's no guaranteed talent after Davis. Wouldn't you rather take a chance on three projects as opposed to one? The bobcats are trading three young players for three young players plus two proven guys. Is a lineup of: Kemba Henderson Gordon Robinson Biyombo really any better than one of: Lowry Jeremy Lamb Moe Harkless Biyombo Moultire
Kemba's upside is much higher than Lowry's, and he's cheaper. They're not going to give up on him without putting a decent roster around him first (he was drafted 9th but considered by many to be a steal at that position). Other than that...12, 16, 18 is not going to get you the #2 pick, period. Replace Iggy to Houston with Evan Turner to Charlotte and that's more reasonable, IMO, but then it starts to look like Philly is getting the short end of the deal.
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=76mfwue Alright, this time Charlotte gets to dump a bad contract and get a point guard, Motiejuanas, an expiring, three first round picks, without giving up Walker and Henderson. Hawks get an expiring and a cheaper replacement for Horford. Magic get the 2nd overall, an expiring, and two prospects (ignore Dalembert since he's not on the team anymore). Rockets get Howard and Horford. Although it does stink to take on Tyrus Thomas- a frontcourt rotation of Howard, Horford, and Thomas is well worth it.
Houston trades 16 + Lowry + Morris/pattterson to Sac for the #5 maybe sac put hayes in for salaries to match.... Then Houston trades 12 + Martin + Morris/pat ...whichever one is left over to GS for the #7 Houston Drafts Drummond and Barnes ( if barnes aint there at 7 then they draft lamb) also we didnt trade the 18 .. so we draft Wroten there. lineup dragic/Wroten Lee/Barnes/wroten Parsons/Barnes Scola/D-Mo Camby/ DRummond Now thats a Team that im pumped up about .... tons of potential for super big athletic lineups.... maybe some players from the Milwalkee trade fit in there .. i dunno
That's why I pointed that out. I threw him in there to emulate the changes in the salaries we have. Otherwise the deal wouldn't work on trade machine.
Just like to say I'm very upset of the results of the draft as usual and still trying to make sense of it all so I'm going to start making some more random trade ideas until something good happens. As of now with free agents, draft picks, non-guaranteed and guaranteed contracts! Lowry, Dragic(FA), Fortson, Livingston Martin, Lee(RFA), Lamb Parsons, Morris, White Scola, Patterson, Simpson, Jones, Leuer Camby(FA), Motiejunas, Smith, Brockman Right now I'd welcome a trade for Gasol sending Scola & Lowry Fullfill our obligation with the Nets and send them Jones for our 1st rd pick in 2013 Waive Brockman, Simpson Resign Dragic, Camby Dragic, Livingston, Fortson Martin, Lamb Parsons, White, Morris Motiejunas, Patterson, Leuer Gasol, Camby, Smith Line-up won't get us far but hope drastic changes are on the way!!
Is the Josh Smith trade window still open? We get Josh Smith. ATL gets Kevin Martin, Terrence Jones and Luis Scola.
