While Gasol is not the same player he was 3 or even 2 years ago, he is still a very good player who has another 2-3 years of just below his prime play left. However, there are two things working against him that make me hope the Rockets don't bite. 1) Lakers asking price: Said to be a top 10 pick, vet and no relief for us taking Gasol's contract. Even if they took the 12th pick. I'm sure they would want Lowry and while I'm open to moving Lowry I don't want to do it in this deal. 2) Gasol's contract: He's got multiple years at 20 million per. That's alot for a guy who while still good has his best days behind him.

The media will always say stuff like that because LA is putting it out there in an attempt to jack up the price. LA is in a bad situation cap-wise and other teams know it. LA will get desperate before anyone else does, and the price will come down. I could see Gasol being had for something like Scola and #16 when it comes down to it. LA will get very desperate indeed.
I'd do that in a heartbeat, but there's no way we convince Cleveland to do that without throwing another pick or player.

Might not be a bad thing necessarily. As long as the trade package for Gasol is not as good as the package last offseason. Gasol plus 2 other first round (possibly lottery) picks on this team is not too shabby. A great let down from the Howard-Williams/Smith hype, but a nice return nonetheless
What sucks is we won't hear anything until the draft gets started since teams wanna see who's still on the board, while all of us are refreshing Twitter and CF every other minute
