It's easier to just trade for #5 and Cousins, but i highly doubt the Kings would do something like that...

If Houston could move up to 2 I would love if they took MKG. I think he is a really special player and he would fit in perfectly to the culture that so many love about this team over the course of the last 2 or 3 years. Look at how much Leonard improved over the shortened season for the Spurs. MKG is more talented in every way than Leonard, and is more dedicated to winning and improving.

This team is flushed with spare parts. I don't care if they have to overpay, they can afford it -- and, quite honestly, they can not afford to bring on a bunch more rookies and spare parts.

Hollinger on Dwight deal going down tonight:

Not happening. Any deal with Howard is almost certain to take place after July 1. That's also when cap considerations would make any trade with New Jersey or Houston much more plausible.

Wouldn't it be better for them to take the trade now so they can draft the players they want? I don't see us getting dwight if it doesn't happen tonight.

Which has been true the entire time. There was no way Dwight was going to get traded on draft night.

Yeah, it would make sense for them to pick who they want

one thing i don't want to happen is for Houston to make their draft picks, and then we sit in limbo, wondering if these guys are really Rockets. I want to get excited about the future of this franchise starting tonight!

Who cares about Howard, dude already said he doesn't want to play in houston.

If we could swing for top 10 pick I'd like it if we could somehow get Barnes. In today's NBA it seems like freak SFs are the new franchise players, and IMHO Barnes could turn out to be the best player in this draft. I know MKG has a lot of press about his intangibles, but really you're not looking for the next president of the US, Barnes is someone who is known to have good work ethic and is extremely focused, I think that's good enough.

If we even had a shot at getting the #2, then it would take a starting package of K-Mart, Lowry, P-Patt, #12 or #16 for #2 and Tyrus Thomas.

In that scenario we would have to take on Tyrus Thomas's 3yr 26 million dollar contract. Which is why we are getting rid of P-Patt. He becomes expendable. Give or take another player or 2. That is the deal you are looking at. And i actually love that deal.

You would still have Scola and you add Tyrus Thomas as a lengthy 4. (I think McHale could bring him into form.) You draft the second best player on the board and allow Marcus Morris to get into the rotation. If he wasn't already in contention for it after the Budinger trade.

Line-up without other deals and lets just say Beal... all this is minus F/A signings and potential other deals. That is the rebuilding young line-up some of the posters like.

    PG: Dragic, Fortson
    SG: Lee, Beal
    SF: Parsons, Morris
    PF: Scola, Tyrus T.
    C: Camby, Tyrus T.

Barnes is not a "freak SF", he just isn't. He does not have near the physical tools or speed of MKG, much less LeBron or Durant. In fact, I think his athleticism is around a Glenn Rice level -- but I don't even think he is going to be that good.

And on Kidd-Gilchrest, yes, I love hi intangibles -- but he is a freakish athlete. That is why I like him, he couples the uber-athleticism with uber-intangibles and competiveness.

Plus, he is fun to watch, and I like Barnes less every time I see him play.

Drummond please!!!!! This kid is freakishly young and athletic. He's freakin long and lengthy. We need a center badly! Camby can develop this kid defensively and scola can develop him offensively.
Then you got Mchale to develop him and Hakeem is right next door to help.

None. Cousins is for all intents and purposes about as untouchable as they come.

Varejao would not be a good move at all.

MKG is a roleplayer. Draws Trevor Ariza comparisons.
