The hype is zll fan generated though. When teams are easily giving up higher picks because they feel they can get the same tier player further down should say a lot.

It would be perfect to get Chuck back here and draft Drummond at the same time.

Too big of a risk for me. I was all for him before the bad back. I would go with youth.

Morey better not miss out on getting a top 5 pick because he wants to hold on to the 12th or 18th pick. I don't think he has to trade all three but I'd imagine the Kings would take an offer that was some combination of Lowry plus 2 of the 3 picks.

You cannot mortgage your entire system at a chance for a player that may not be here in a year. Now if you've for DH and Smith or dwill locked up, go for it.

Confirmed: Rockets offered Kyle Lowry and the 16th pick to the Kings in exchange for the 5th pick & F Chuck Hayes. Kings declined #NBADraft

I would offer Lowry + the 18th for the 5th with no players coming back.

With Hayes back in the fold, Drummond would have an abundance of help around him here.

I really think the player-mentor theory is overrated. Players dont play professional basketball to teach other players. Thats the coaching's staffs job.

Hmm, I see with the most recent offer we're doing our best to hang on to that #12. Looks like we actually are high on PJIII.

I assume they'd bite if we added D-Mo to that previous offer, but were I Morey I'd do whatever it took to make that young addition Pat instead.

P-Patt has to be added in the deal to get hayes... and to make a fair deal. Salaries have to match and stuff too...

Yeah, all the players coming back to the Rockets a second time around have been busts under Morey.

With the contract he signed he'd be Mike James part II.

You do realize that is a much worse trade for them dont you? Not only have you given them a worse draft choice, but you took away their ability to get rid of Chuck's contract. If they didn't accept the first offer why would they except this one?

That has never stopped the Rockets from having players spend time with CD, Dream, Mutombo, Yao and coach McHale.

Every single draftee this year has played zero games in the NBA. When it comes to the draft, nobody is proven. I am not sure how the "unproven" logic works on either side of the argument. Or are you saying that playing in the NCAA competition is somehow "proven"?

The only proven commodity is Dwight Howard. So if the #5 is for Howard, that's another story. If the debate is about whether Donut is worth a top 5 pick in this year's draft, then it's really up for grasp.

I love Chuck Hayes but I would not let him be a deal breaker. If they don't accept Lowry + 18th, I would offer Lowry + the 16th for the 5th with no players coming back. I would not add D-MO or Parsons to ANY trades unless New Orleans wants to give up Davis(which I know will not happen).
