we may be Heat stoppers, but MKG is not a great shooter, and neither is Parsons. We'd be giving up too much offense IMHO
from a live chat with Sam Amiko from http://www.foxsportsohio.com/ - for what it's worth 12:21 Comment From jack cavs in talks with rockets...have you heard any details? 12:22 Sam Amico: Yes, Rockets were interested in the No. 4 pick. Cavs told them to take a hike, from what I hear.
Comment From Ryan_Unsigned If Rockets can't move 3 1st Rd picks will cavs call them to get one of them? 12:24 Sam Amico: Wouldn't surprise me if they did. Not sure what they could trade, though.
I'm just going to keep posting Rockets related stuff from this chat. It's somewhat relevant: Comment From CavsFan4life With the Rockets being so aggresive, how likely is it the Cavs get another lottery pick? They seem to have more assets than the Rockets. 12:30 Sam Amico: I respect your thinking, but how do you figure Cavs have more assets than Rockets? Scola better than any big on Cavs, Martin better than any SG, and Lowry is a starter at PG. They also have 3 first-rounders in the teens. So if it comes down to Rockets or Cavs making a blockbuster, I'd say Rockets win easily.
Haha that Cavs fan was delusional. I know we may be homers here, but I was damn sure we have better assets to offer than the Cavs. Only pieces they have that are more valuable are untouchable for them.
I'm all for getting top 10 picks, but I would be really pissed if we got two top 10s and traded them in for Howard.
(not my Q) Comment From Sammy As a Laker fan, should I be thinking that the Rockets will target Pau after realizing that Dwight is not an option? 12:53 Sam Amico: That's exactly what I'm thinking, Sammy. I think it's a better possibility than Dwight, in fact.
Sam Amick more or less confirming it: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20...-mock-draft-2012/index.html?eref=twitter_feed Remember how Chad Ford said the Kings would like to have one of the Rockets young players (mentioning Motiejunas) in addition to #14 and #16 for #5. Appears as if Amick is hearing similar stuff.
The Cavs have four picks in this draft#'s 4,24,33, &34. I know the price for #4 is going to be steep, but I can't imagine them wanting 4 1st round picks. I would think maybe Martin, Parsons, and 14 could be the starting framework of a deal. If any other picks are added by the Rockets, then maybe the Cavs include #24 or their 2nd rounders.
I tweeted this at Chad Ford last night at like 2AM. Therefore I will take credit as his source. And then proceed to discount myself as a credible source.
Again I hear so much talking. Morey gives me no confidence when he is all over the place with talk. It means he is lowballing people again and not really trying to get deals done. I am gonna reserve judgement on him this time until after the draft. Its not looking good so far even armed with 3 picks and Lowry. I think he needs a plan and to stick to it if there is a good idea of some offers on the table by now.
I think we, in this city, undervalue martin .. the guy in a injury filled season and a season where he was in the coaches doghouse averaged 17 points .. he is a career 37% 3 point shooter as a high volume shooter (not like the guys who only shoot 3s when they are passed the ball off the double team and are wide open) In the right system martin will have no trouble averaging 20 points a game shooting close to 40% 3s and running the floor well. It is true he is not a great defender but some coaches (like adelman) dont really care. Depending on the team and their philosophy, I can see teams valuing him more than lowry who has basically one good year under his belt
