That is so sad. As much as we diss LeBron, at least he wanted to win a title. This is just...idiotic and sad. Money and a brand talks more than fame and rings? What bizarro world does Howard live in?

Yea... So much for wanting to win Dwight.....

Unless of course this is all a ploy to steer him away from Houston.

I have a feeling Dwight and Deron are freaking out right now lol. We may just get our way.

    He wants the money.
Max contract and millions and millions in endorsements in big market teams.
Houston can't provide that. The former yes, but the latter... no.

It's an act. As long as uniting with Deron in NYC this summer remains an option, both Dwight and Deron's representatives will say anything in the world to try and scare other teams away. They're desperate. Doesn't mean it's accurate.

The fact that this is even being floated out there tells me we are very close. That Howard's representatives are nervous. And that there is nothing they can do about it if he is traded here, except sign on the dotted line.

Let's be real, if he wins the championship here next year, the only way he leaves is if hell freezes over. The guy is a bit immature, but not a complete dumbass. He will not sabotage his career, his entire image, his brand, for... what I don't even know, by leaving a championship squad. For this to even be threatened reeks of desperation.

I'm sure Howard can find more endorsments here than in Orlando. It's a fact. Dwight is coming to Houston. There's no where else he can go. He may leave, but I think Morey, Hakeem, McHale, Lee can influence him to stay. We can make a pitch for D-Will or try and get Smith to keep him happy.

Totally agree. Sounds like desperation on the part of both Howard and DWill camps. I'm starting to get really optimistic about this.

The only markets clearly in front of Houston are NYC, LA, and Chicago. The next group of Houston, Dallas, Miami, Boston, DC, etc. are all pretty close.

Don't. I've made that mistake before. Stay pessimistic and be surprised.

Houston can't provide that? too bad we never had the world's most popular God in the form of a Chinese basketball player. And I guess the mid 2000s mcgrady and his top selling jersey was just a hallucination.

Are we really talking about your thoughts on Wade Phillips in a Dwight Howard thread?

Mike Ganter, Toronto Sun, says he believes Raptors will trade the No. 8 pick. Possibly to Houston, who might chase Drummond.

The counter to the scare tactics from these sources should be pointing out that we have more to gain than to lose trading for Dwight. Even if he's guaranteed to bolt.

Aldridge is a credible reporter, not going to ignore him for reporting something I don't want to hear.

And I will recap if I catch it.
