Another small tweak that will have no impact long term unless Morey pulls something big on the draft night. Turning 3 mid first rounders into a high lottery pick would be great. Good luck to Bud. He'll be playing for a great coach on a team that will probably make the playoffs next year. I hope he does well in Minnesota.
I've heard about Lior from an Israeli basketball fan. They said he was good over there, but not good enough for the NBA. This was in 2009, so he might be better now. If he didn't look decent enough at 23 then I don't think he will be much better at 26. He's way too slow footed for a 6'10" basketball player who plays in the post.
Its nice to see this rumor is being put to action unlike past draft days where we'd all expect big things only to come out at the end disappointed and frustrated about what didn't happen.
I hope Rubio's rehab is going well-- for his knee AND for his outside shot. If he can make defenders respect his 3-ball, he'll be better at getting past them to finish or kick out to Bud, et al.
A bunch of them were upset because of the rumor last night about it being MARTIN for the 18th lol. I think they're warming up to it though since Budinger makes so little money and they may be able to add a good free agent with their cap space.
What a steal. I figured Minnesota would be one of the teams we trade with. Budinger and Martin were the only remaining 'Adleman' players. I wonder what we could do with Lowry and Martin on draft night. All that is next is to complete the trade for #5 with our other recent trading partners: Sacramento.
I can't help but think that if somebody had proposed this on the board, he'd have been hooted down for being too much of a Rockets homer. A soon-to-be free agent who's average at best for a mid first rounder in a great draft? Minnesota...what were you thinking?
Yeah, we get called homers when we are throwing them Martin for the 18th pick. I think this board has some homers like many other boards (but less percentage-wise), but it also has the most realistic and lately pessimistic (I don't blame them) fans. Hopefully, it turns around this year.
I like this trade, but Bud suits Adleman's offense really well. Post Battier trade, he got consecutive near 30 points as a starter. I think he may average 20 points a game under Adelman. On the other hand, Parsons wouldn't be great in that system. System matters.
Ok!! Now we are talking Morey. Good good good. However???? You can screw this up by getting a lions share of draft picks and turning them all into Dwight Howard if he leaves you after that. That would be disastrous beyond belief. So make sure that is what you want to do before you do it. When you can keep those picks or move up instead.
Good deal for minny, better deal for houston. It says minny doesn't want martin because he doesn't fit in the age dynamic of the team. Hope chase continues to get better and thank him for his time here.
Let us first get the 2 first rounders, and then we have leverage. Its actually kinda funny. DMorey has tried shaking the draft tree, trying to see how many teams will bite on the move up in the draft. The Raptors, Kings and Bobcats all have showed willingness to trade down. And Morey is playing his cards well...trying to max out his trading value. Go Rockets
One thing i take out of all of this... is.... Morris now has a chance to compete for an important role on this team. He has to take advantage of it though.
