I think so... but I think none of that matters to morey.

You get howard then take the path that opens up from there

Go for dwill...shuts down...go for smith... then that can lead to other roads....

both those fail...put nash and garnet around howard?

Just saying the focus is get the top ten player and then everything else will fall into place.

I will donate 50 dollars to the tip jar if we get Dwill and Dwight. Everyone should contribute some if we get the dynamic duo

The one potentially pitfall to all this is that if Dwight is a big enough drama queen to really collude here, he could just tell any potential FA he isn't staying and then make it impossible to sign anyone of note. He could stomp his feet, ruin FA plans, pout during the season, sit out due to "back injuries" etc. and really hurt this franchise on his way out the door.

The players are all good with this superfriends stuff so I wouldn't be stunned to see them cooperate with Dwight.

Why is it bullcrap!? Because it's not what you want to hear!

We are like the losers who weren't invited to the party, but decided to show up anyway... Now the cool kids are wondering the hell invited us...

Don't they both have the same agent? If so, ask this is hogwash and won't impact trade proposals

Do you work with Legion Sports? Are you David Aldridge? You must be one or the other

At this point, if we can't get the super team I am perfectly happy sacraficing our current group to screw them out of millions of dollars.

Trade for Smith/Howard, screw Dwill, and force Howard to walk away from two of his friends and millions of dollars.

I'm guessing this is a bluff, much like the "no chance I'll re-sign" leak from Dwight's camp last night. To me, what's obvious is that Plan A for both Dwight and Deron is to team up in NYC. If it weren't, you wouldn't hear reports on Deron being torn between the Nets/Mavs. The Mavs are clearly the better basketball situation, and it's home. Deron is hoping the Nets have an ace up their sleeve in Dwight, and Dwight clearly wants to go (Woj report last week that he's demanding a trade to NJ before free agency).

The biggest obstacle to the Nets getting Howard, though - just like at the deadline - is the stones of Daryl Morey and his willingness to do a deal without any guarantee of an extension. Orlando has zero reason to send Dwight to the team of his choosing, and the Rockets clearly have more to offer than the Nets. (Interesting reversal of the Jazz/Nets/Rockets dynamic two years ago when the Favors offer trumped us for Deron.)

The camps of Dwight and Deron see what's happening, and there's not much they can do about it... except for one thing. That's to scream from the rooftops about how neither has any interest in Houston, won't sign or re-sign, etc. and try to scare Morey into standing down. I'm not buying it. It's a last-ditch ploy to try and salvage the NYC dream. Make the deal, let it blow over for a few days, and show up on Deron's doorstep (with Dwight in tow) on July 1. I like Houston's chances.

Source close to Brooklyn PG Deron Williams says Houston not likely to be added to his free agency wish list even if the Rockets get Dwight Howard. Williams is focused on the Nets or Dallas, his hometown team. If Williams felt differently and headed for Houston, and Howard signed the extension that no one thinks he'd ever sign, I'm guessing Rockets GM Daryl Morey would then be given a 27-year extension of his own.

If Dwight came to Houston and then walked at the end, wouldn't Houston have a bunch of extra $$$ to spend on another big FA?

Deron's two options at the moment both stink. Brooklyn is beyond screwed and Dallas is an aging roster with a 34 year old Dirk Nowitzki, who was rather underwhelming last season.

It just makes no sense whatsoever for Deron to pass on Houston if they trade for Dwight Howard. Its clearly BS so both can see through their wishes to join forces in Brooklyn, which is not happening with the Nets' lack of assets.

no that just doesn't matter anyway...saying that before the trade happens and then realizing that Howard and mavs wont happen and howard and nets wont happen. Are two different things.

Then morey gets a chance to sell dwill on rockets with howard...possibly acquiring veterans like garnet or something like him or trading for josh smith.

You just have to trust the plan...trust Howard is worth the risk...and that howard wont opt out (lose soo much money)...trust that you can sell howard and dwill on the franchise.

If you dont have that kind of faith in your organization you should just close shop...
