excellent trade. Love Bud, but he's a free agent next year and there's no way we were gonna pay him the $4 mil per he deserves. I wish him the best of success in Minny, other than when he plays against Houston. I think it was a good move for both franchises. Now let's move Dally and Martin (two other guys who will be free agents next year that the rockets have no intention of bringing back).
I've been critical of the guy, but this is a nice deal. Fair too, Chase is no longer a 2nd round pick he's a rotation type guy and worth the 18th. I'll stay tuned.
I can easily rattle off 18 names (probably more like 20-25) in this draft I would love to roll the dice with, meaning we'd be guaranteed one of them in this spot. Granted, we likely won't stay here, but for Budinger? Great trade in my opinion.
I'd be pretty disappointed if the end result of all these moves would be the Rockets getting Josh Smith. Perhaps I just don't see enough ATL games, but I just don't see Smith as the type of player that gets us into serious playoff consideration. He is due a big payday, and it doesn't look like he elevates his game when the games count most. I know he is better than Parsons, but is he that much better? And the same needs (a C, a better SG) still remain, so we would need at least one of the #1's to get an impact SG... list: Beal (need the #5 at least), Ross (need the #14 at least), Rivers (need the #18 at least).
With this and the rumors of Houston talking to three teams in the top ten, I think we've firmly established it as a buyer's market out there as far as draft picks are concerned. No need to pat ourselves on the back yet, let's see where this is all going.
well, we'd be going in circles because then you are diving into the territory of him possibly being the reason that our team isn't a good situation in the first place. anyway, i was talking in the context of the budinger quote. no reason to derail this one into debating whether or not morey is a good gm. there are tons of other threads for that.
Not true, I just think this is the wrong thread for a discussion like that - still feel I am 100% right and the players all saying that pretty much confirms it. DD
Awesome, that could net us someone like Moultrie, Harkless, Wroten, Sullinger, T. Jones, Miller...excited for more upcoming moves.
Well, you are the one who extrapolated Budinger's comment into something that can literally destroy a franchise(if FAs truly won't come to the Rockets). So if you want to make that assertion, shouldn't you have at least some proof to suppor thtat/
Proof as in players saying it to the press, proof like that? Or would you mean proof like Clutch talking about it in his article about why Dwight opted in? Good lord man, look around, the proof is swirling all around you like you are in the eye of a hurricane. DD
Sad day. This trade must be in preparation for a draft day deal because the Rockets could never replace Bud's output with an 18th pick. Morey is breaking up the team to acquire a one-year rental of a superstar who probably won't play much of the next season because of a bad back. I repeat. Sad day.
