BEAST of a deal. Wow. Morey kills it again. This is a guy who we got with a 2nd round pick who at times last season wasn't even in the rotation.
He could still be valuable at the trade deadline with his expiring contract. Someone will take him off our hands. If not, then let him walk and clear a buttload of caproom.
I wouldn't say nothing. Not enough for his salary and not as much as we expect... sure, but with only 1 year left, what would be the point of an amnesty, barring a FA extravaganza that won't happen?
Late to the party, but great move! Also says something (a lot) about many of the armchairs GM's on here - myself included at times (though not this time). Kevin Martin for a #18 pick? How may guys score 20 ppg in the NBA? 10, 15? And do it efficiently? That's worth a lot more than the #18.
Now we just need the #2, #4, #6, #8, #10, and the #12. The Rockets will be drafting every other pick on Thursday!
Now I wish we get Terrence Ross more than ever. Gonna need an athletic SG/SF that can shoot those threes and defend.
Devious trade. Just a brutal pillaging of the system to take a pick you bought for cash, squeeze a few solid seasons on a rookie contract out of it, and then flip it for a much better pick. Obviously it's another single and not the homer we all want, but still, DAMN do I like this.
Never did imagine Adelman had that much of a hard on for Chase. Always thought it was coachspeak. Guess not if he's willing to give up an 18th pick for the guy.
Parsons still needs a backup, and Bud was still better than Morris last year. I think at the end of the day Bud has always been expendable period, and thank god for Adelman for a deal too good to pass up.
