Hey sometimes a girl doesn't want to go out with a guy at first, but then they end up falling in love later. Dwight and Deron are our girls.
Moot question. If one of the 2 between Lowry and Gogi are gone because they both want to start what makes you think DWill and Gogi can or will be okay with playing on the same team?
I'd be astounded if Morey traded Martin for the 18th pick. One thing that we've heard since Morey started is that it can be a little hard to deal with the Rockets because they value their own guys so highly. (Which I don't mind, because he still seems to get it done to the extent possible.) But more than anything, Martin's value is at its nadir. Whatever you might think of him, he'd be valuable as hell as a shooter with a center who needs space. If he's valuable, they'll get more than the 18th pick for him; if Martin doesn't currently have much trade value, then he's a very useful player for the Rockets.
No way would Dragic stick around if we sign D-Will. He's like Lowry and knows he should be be a starting PG somewhere. If we signed Deron, I’d hope we could S&T Dragic and Scola for Pau…I don’t want Pau by himself, but a D-Will/Pau/Dwight team would be ridiculously scary.
I know, I know. I'm just curious in case something crazy happened and McHale wanted to start Gogi at the 2 or something like Collison and George Hill. I mean, we're already shooting for the stars here, I just took my fantasy a step further
It would also be practically impossible, considering those 3 guys alone would take up the entire salary cap.
Martin for #18 sounds pretty fair. If we're trading Lowry, we might want to pry away one of Minny's backup PGs as part of the salary match. Barea would look pretty good in a Rockets uniform.
Yeah, but while Deron and Howard have been making you wait, Dragic is the girl you have been sleeping with for the past season.
So? All we'd have left to do is re-sign Lee and Camby and we can go over the salary cap to do that. The NBA nowadays is about having the biggest big three possible, and ours would be pretty damn amazing.
Wasn't the 16th pick a year ago traded for Martell Webster, a player who has never been good? Now we're trading a near all-star for the 18th pick? Morey the Wizard
Nikola Vucevic was the 16th pick a year ago. He was not traded for Martell Webster. The 2010 16th pick, Luke Babbitt, was traded for Martell Webster. At the time, Webster was 23 years old and signed to a fairly cheap contract (below MLE) and viewed as still having some potential to be productive. Didn't work out that way. Kevin Martin is a better player than Webster for sure, but he is much older than Webster was, more expensive and coming off a down year.
Yes, because every draft is the exact same I'm not even sure your facts are correct, but : David West Jr. Smith Ty Lawson Were also 18th picks....in a deep draft, it can land you a player on their level. Really, it's probably a move to package picks for DH.
Ha, if Dwight doesn't want to be in Houston next year, he's going to have to take a PR hit and make it known. Morey is too obsessed to be swayed by "unnamed sources".
