yeah but we will be in the same position as this draft but would have had the best center in the league on our team for a year. Which means a full toyota center, jersey sales etc.

The source is Morey himself so he can drive down the price. Mind blown

And getting Howard for a one year rental is not trying to rebuild on the fly and it shows a clear direction to get a player who plans to leave after a year.

Is this really good for Houston or for Morey's struggle?

The Rockets also believe that Hakeem Olajuwon's relationship with Dwight Howard could help them keep Howard in Houston after next year.

With that said, I don't think Howard would sign a long-term deal in Houston. I see where the Rockets are coming from, but I think he'd walk.

Dwight stays: Try to build contender
    He leaves: Tank

It's simple, we just let the cards play out.

And when Dwight decides not to sign, Hakeem will tell him "You have to do what is best for you." players side with players...not teams.

A retired player is not going to keep Dwight here...I really hope they are planning something better than this.

You know Morey can't operate with a short sighted mentality of only focusing on having one good year of sales and a star for one year. I doubt if Howard comes and leaves we will have the 14th and 16th pick the following year either, so no we will not be in the same position as this draft.

If i was morey and my b**** were getting close to the band saw i would be more inclined to focusing on having one good year. I also think that morey is great at taking second round picks that are really as good as late lottery picks so i am not concerned with how high we pick unless its a top 1-3 pick where the talent is clearly head and shoulders above the rest of the draftees.

The Houston Rockets are shopping everyone. Kyle Lowry, Kevin Martin, Samuel Dalembert, EVERYONE. Even their mascot, Clutch, is on the block.
