Yeah, that's the whole idea behind the Nets thing: Both Dwight and Deron can get full raise/years if Dwight is traded there. Otherwise, either Deron needs to sacrifice raise/year to join Dwight or Dwight needs to sacrifice raise/year to join Deron (as a free agent in 2013, assuming Deron is still on a team with sufficient cap room to offer Dwight the max).

Not gonna lie I would have to laugh that off he would get so much hate! Lebron times like 5!

Now if he comes here and gives it his all and theN books it fine but if he just quits, no respect!

I really want Dwight, but it's gonna be a real kick in the nuts if some how we get him and he just leaves in the off-season and we're left with nothing.

Maybe it makes it cheaper for Morey to get him now.

Dwight may have also looked around at the cap for the summer of 2013 and seen that NY, Lakers, Miami and Chicago will not have room to sign him. Brooklyn will have to commit alot of spending this summer to keep Deron happy. The Clippers will be signing Griffin to an extension and trying to keep Paul.
There will not be any of the major markets with cap room to give Dwight a max deal forcing him to look at a smaller market or stay in Houston in the unlikely event we pull a trade off.

Good. That means the rumors of us trying to nab him are true.

I've been saying this all day. If he wanted to be here, he would already be here. If he doesn't wanna be here, I don't want him here.

We need to keep the trade-ups alive though, two top 10 picks in this draft can build a contender in 2-3 years!

This is a no lose situation for Morey if he makes the trade. If Howard likes it here, he will stay. If he does leave, then the Rockets can finally rebuild.

Hmm, Clutch you may well be on to something here. It also reinforces my belief that should Howard get dealt to Houston, there is no chance he'll opt to extend his contract rendering him a one year rental. He could very well become Lamar Odom part deux for the Rockets and that would bring an entirely new meaning to the word "frustration".

    One thing to note:

Dwight's agent is Dan Fegan. Fegan also represents Yi Jianlian. Yi is a proven scrub now, but remember when he was the NEXT BIG THING from China at draft time? Yi didn't want to go to Milwaukee, so Fegan played hard ball with Milwaukee-- having Yi not going there for interview/workout, leaking all kinds of info about Yi not wanting to play for the Bucks (and maybe even threatening staying in China or something).

    Anyway, Milwaukee drafted Yi anyway.

Also, Fegan is also Kevin Martin and Courntey Lee's agent. If you believe Bill Ingram, Courtney Lee wanted to go somewhere where he can be a starter and Fegan was trying to force a trade. Maybe Fegan isn't happy with Morey costing his client minutes (and future salary).

I don't see how. The assets you give up to get him are better than what we could get from NJ. You have zero leverage at that point .

Exactly. We can even do a S&T if need be. At worst the true rebuilding can happen and Morey will have swung for the fences like Les wanted him to.

If we trade for him, it will be drama everyday. Houston fans making fools of themselves begging Dwight to stay. Dwight will probably replace Pippen as the most hated Rocket of all time after he bolts.

I'm sure he will play with great effort though, playing for a team he doesn't want to play for.
