[CNN/SI] Karl Malone: I would choose Pippen over Jordan to start a team

    The most asked question in NBA circles around draft time is if you had a franchise what player would you want to start a team with.

    Former Utah Jazz great Karl Malone was asked that very question on “The Dan Patrick Show” but was asked what Dream Team member he would choose. Of course, he said Jazz teammate John Stockton. The other choice is sure to get some people talking.

    “I would have to start my team with Scottie Pippen,” Malone said, according to CSNChicago.com. “This is why I would take Scottie: Do you remember the time that Michael retired? I watched Scottie Pippen when the Chicago Bulls weren’t really good and Scottie led that team in every statistical category, and I just remembered that.”

    Other Dream Teamers David Robinson and Charles Barkley said they didn’t care who was on the team.

    A Dream Team documentary will premiere Wednesday night on NBA TV.

    Ooh, I guess he doesn't remember the Bulls winning six titles, since Jordan had nothing to do with that; all Pippen!

    The question was "Who would you pick to play with you." not as an owner, but a fellow player. I suppose he's saying he wouldn't work with MJ as much as Pippen. And his 2nd pick (not ounting Stockton who they didn't let him pick) was Magic.

    So, he just said who he'd fit with the most.

    Dumb thing to say, but I do think people forget how great Pippen played when MJ retired. That's around the same time he had that historic dunk over Ewing. Pippen is very underrated IMO.

    He's probably just better friends with Pippen. And I'm sure Jordan wouldn't be that fun to play with, if you're already an all-time great yourself. Karl wouldn't see the ball that much playing with Jordan.
