The Heat have shown the "way", too. That "way" is to acquire superstars. You're not going to get them by consistently putting a pretty good team on the floor and picking around #14. It's either by consistently being bad and drafting in the top five (like OKC), or adding established superstars via free agency/trades (Miami). Trade for Howard, and you might get lucky and have the latter happen. If it backfires, you're in a better position to go the OKC model. Either is better than status quo and "just say no".

And the Heat way just beat the Thunder way. In all honesty though, getting Dwight can put us in the direction go either way depending on what he does after a year. If he leaves we can finally go the Thunder way instead of picking at 14, if he stays then we can try to bring other stars in and go the Heat way. Either way I am fine with it, one will be more excruciating to see but I'll be a fan with hope through it no matter what.

    $$$ talks BS walks.

Texas has no state taxes meaning they are saving millions each year unlike New York and L.A.

Not all superstars like New York and Los Angeles.

    Durant likes OKC

Like I said. Get one. And they will come.

Around the Horn is buying this as a good deal for Orlando. Not one of the 4 panelists says Orlando shouldn't accept if it comes down to it. Cowlishaw likes what Morey is doing

basically saying the rockets wil try to get 2 top 10 picks to package with a current player/players (morris mentioned).

    buy/sell.

cowlishaw doesn't think it will be enough.

    blackistone says he'd take it.

    plaske likes it.

woody says he'd take it if we add morris and another player or 2.

Just to be clear, they were buy/selling whether or not the Rockets would be able to trade for Dwight, assuming the first trade for two top 10 lotto picks?

Must be a bad day in sports...

You fail to acknowledge that OKC was drafting in the Top 5 year after year. The way this current Rockets team is constructed, we will be drafting at the 14th pick every single year and it's way to hard to build through the draft at that position. This is all hypothetical but a potential Howard trade will do one of two things. It will make us better or it will make us worse. If Howard decides to leave after 1 year, our team will be completely gutted and we will suck big time but in turn that will lead us to the position of being able to draft in the Top 5. That is an opportunity to start building through the draft legitimately. If Howard decides to stay, guys may actually want to come here and play with him which would be the start of building a contender. Either way we aren't staying the course, and that's the biggest plus to me.

Thanks to you and BigMaloe. Reps.

Generally, I don't take their opinions seriously, but this is a case where it's difficult to judge what people outside of the Rockets and Rockets fans think, so I was curious. Seems like it's a somewhat positive view
