I'm getting kinda tired of everyone posting the another Magic player with back problems post. It's a simple cop out to making a big move to improve the team. Fact is Howard has never had any sort of injury history until this season. Before this season he missed a total of 7 games in 7 seasons and then missed 12 games this season for a total of 19 missed games in 8 seasons. McGrady on the other had missed 56 games in his first 7 seasons before joining the Rockets.

You have to keep in mind McGrady had a history of injuries before we traded for him. Wheather it was his knees or back, I'm sure he could have missed more time but played with certain injuries which he probably had to over compensate for while on the court which could have lead to other injuries. This is the 1st time Howard has had any type of issue. I'm not worried about Howard now starting to break down because this is the 1st real injury he has had since entering the NBA.

You can worry about giving up too much, or Howard bolting after one season, those are valid concerns. But I don't want to hear worries over the guy breaking down. Dude is a physical specimen like no one who has ever played the game. He has been indistructable in his 1st 7 seasons and now because of a herniated disc in his lower back everyone is going to flip. All he has to do is rest and work on his back and he will be fine. If it were higher in his back near his spine then it would be much more serious.

Good post. Howard's injury situation is nothing remotely resembling McGrady's. Unlike T-Mac, Howard wasn't born with a spinal medical condition (Scoliosis).

    -sigh-

I remember being in New Jersey for a week and being out of the loop on Rox news and suddenly flipping past ESPN with perfect timing to see "McGrady to Houston" graphic.

    So. Much. Excitement.

I was starting to explain what exactly happened to Howard and then I'm like this may be sarcasm.......... So I'll just leave it at that

Already too tall for the archway.

If only we could have had him this young, he'd still be playing for us.:(
