man if KG is willing to come here on the cheap, we'd have the best front court in nba history

    Dwight Howard
    Kevin Garnett
    Chandler Parsons
    Kevin Martin
    Deron Williams

Yah like if we dont get D will for some reason...resign dragic and make a pitch at Gerald Wallace...

That would be funny...so nets and dwill hoped to land Howard and pair him with wallace. Loose both to us.

    Dragic
    Lee
    Wallace
    Dmo
Howard... still a pretty good team..and you know camby is resigning.

That may be a reach. Parrish/McHale/Bird was pretty decent.

I foresee a starting lineup next year of:

    C - Dwight
    PG - Rondo
    SG - Ray Allen
    PF - KG
    SF - Paul Pierce

Politely disagree. Teams like Brooklyn who aren't close to contending wouldn't do it without an extension. But you can't tell me that if a Dwight Howard is available when the heat of the deadline comes around that a contending team wouldn't jump at it. The window for winning a championship is so small.

What are you talking about? Never again? Players come available all the time. People are going into panic mode around here and it's silly. People want to gamble on a quick fix, when we should be trying to do it the right way by drafting and developing young talent. If we can get two top ten picks in what most people feel is a strong draft class, then going young is what should be done. Howard doesn't want to be here.

As long as people are pulling things out of their ass, dont dispell the notion that Drummond AND Howard could come here if Morey wanted. You'd probably lose Martin, Scola, Lowry, Parsons, and Dalembert but hey it's possible.

Getting Dwight alone will make us a contender because he's that good but he also helps to put us in the running to lure former stars/veteran help nearing the end of their careers. Getting Deron Williams of course would be fantastic but it may be an even longer shot than getting Dwight.

If we can get Dwight it will make it so much easier for us to lure players like KG, Ray Allen, Jason Terry, Dre Miller, Antawn Jamison, Grant Hill etc. Players that made a TON of money throughout their careers that will or will likely be signing for a contender more than likely at a discounted rate.

When did he say he's going to Dallas?

EDIT: found a VERY recent article.

    http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/sto...ng-brooklyn-nets-dallas-mavericks-sources-say

It conveniently notes he will only sign in Brooklyn or Dallas. Specifically says no about Houston.

So he'll give up money to go one place: his hometown, that has an, albeit aging, superstar PF in place, and a solid supporting cast around him already.

Fine, what would they trade us? A non-core bench player, a lesser center, and their late first round pick that we don't want?

Wouldn't we be way better off just keeping the #5 and #8 pick, and other assets we'd have to trade to get Dwight in the first place?

I would say that Drummond has the highest ceiling in my mind (but definetly one of the top ceilings). Therefore, saying he will be the best player is not out of the question. Now, it will take him years to get there which is what is hurting his value the most.
