I guarantee you Morey is going into this with every intention of flipping Howard if an extension isn't signed by the trade deadline which I think is being overlooked. Landing a superstar like Howard is the goal but he's also another asset. THE GAME NEVER ENDS!!!!

Those of you that doubted Clutch can suck it. You guys who want everything spoon fed, just listen to Clutch.

I see the cap room there to sign Williams as long as Orlando doesn't want to bury us with high contracts. That's exactly what they want to do, but they have to choose either shed salary or receive picks to rebuild. What's more important?

i'm curious how much cap space we would have IF we traded our two first rounders of 2012 plus other current guys they would want(scola, Kmart, fillers) for Howard..

i'd love to have enough to pursue D-Will as well..

    anyone have the numbers available?

The Thunder, if they don't think they got any better for their second playoff run.

I think that we have a deal in place and I see it as this:

Lowry for the no 8 from toronto (maybe another piece that will be routed to kings)

Dalembert (14 and 16) to kings for no 5 (and maybe either a piece from toronto or bud or morris)

Either that or what bima said

where we end up with the no 5 and no 14.

Are we waiting for draft day to do these trades? I wonder if we have all the deals set up, but we have to wait and see for Orlando who is wanting to see who is available with whatever pick we end up getting.

I'm thinking maybe Scola instead of Dalembert, but I also think it's one of the two for 14, 16 and possible another piece from TOR for #5.

I'm probably being greedy here, but I hope we somehow end up with Isaiah Thomas as well. Good player. Cheap. Perfect backup PG to Dragic/D-Will.

See I don't get why you guys keep thinking it is a one year-rental with Dwight if we somehow manage to trade them. Do you not think Deron Willaims will come here if we had enough capspace to keep both of Dwight and Deron on the roster? I'm really confident if we manage to get Dwight without adding on bad contracts then we will sign Dwill.

Best Case scenario: We get both Dwight and Dwill

Worst Case scenario: Orlando doesn't want the offer and you have 2 top 10 picks

Mavs, Thunder, Bulls, Lakers....pretty much any team that thinks they're 1 piece from winning a title. Obviously teams that want him for the long haul, i.e. Brooklyn, would wait til the offseason to lure him.

Getting Howard is a no-brainer . . . Guarantee or no - This is a no lose situation for Morey.

Who is really going to criticize him for bringing in a 26 Year old Phenom at the peak of his career in exchange for some reasonable and expendable assets.

Life is short and swinging for the fences is the way to go . . . Rockets are in desperate mode to regenerate fan interest and excitement with the team after a big attendance decrease last year.

This will do it in the short term - and certainly will show fans that this management will do WHATEVER it takes to try to get a winner in this town again !!

Deron would lose an extra year of guaranteed money. He would make more money by signing with New Jersey. Of course, we can do a sign and trade deal with New Jersey. Regardless, it is not a given. Deron could just as easily want to go back to his hometown and player with Dirk.

I will assume though that if Deron comes here, than Dragic will leave. There is no room for both. If Deron doesn't come, than Dragic will resign. Either way our point guard spot will not be a weak position.
