    Dense much, yoda.

Obama's crew stopped the program under duress. They could not accept the F&F embarrassment when it became evident that the program was responsible for the murder of two federal agents. F&F wasn't a Bush program. It was an Obama program. Live with it. Or die (politically) with it, as Obama IMO will.

BTW, the Border Patrol union is calling for Holder's resignation, the release of the papers, an apology by Holder for stonewalling, and, uh, the truth. Now, will Obama back the union or continue to withhold the truth?

Franklin Duress is a powerful leader, but he had nothing to do with Obama correcting a major repub mistake -- Bush is quoted as having 'prayed' on the F & F program.

Ah, I forgot. The term "duress" is beyond your limited vocabulary. BTW, Obama also prayed on the F&F program. He prayed it would go away without causing him further embarrassment.

Good, the mods can slap you upside your head when they tell you the edit was to add the last paragraph in blue. Is there a penalty for whining without cause?

Up to 31 Democrats expected to desert Holder on contempt vote

    June 28, 2012, 3:00 a.m.

WASHINGTON -- Conservative Democrats on Thursday began to desert Atty. Gen. Eric H. Holder Jr. prior to a historic vote to hold him in contempt of Congress, as Republicans upped the ante by deciding to move toward taking Holder to court themselves if he doesn’t hand over 1,500 pages of documents concerning a failed gun-tracking operation.

House vote-counters predicted that somewhere between 20 and 31 Democrats would desert their party largely because the influential National Rifle Assn. threatened to oppose legislators who support the attorney general.

The House scheduled several hours of debate Thursday before it votes on whether Holder, one of President Obama's closest and most trusted Cabinet allies, should be held in contempt.

It would be the first time a sitting member of the Cabinet has been held in contempt.

Holder has repeatedly rebuffed a congressional subpoena to turn over the internal Justice Department documents detailing the handling of the botched Fast and Furious gun-tracking operation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The House will consider two resolutions. The first would ask the U.S. Attorney in Washington to file a criminal case to force Holder to comply with the congressional subpoena. The other would permit the House to hire an outside attorney to file a civil lawsuit asking a judge to compel Holder to cooperate.

Otherwise, a contempt resolution likely would die once it was sent to the U.S. Attorney, who works for Holder and likely would not force his boss to comply because Obama has asserted executive privilege to keep the documents sealed.

Although the GOP-controlled House does not need Democratic votes to pass the contempt resolution, the fact that a growing number of Democrats may switch sides points up the volatility of the increasingly political constitutional crisis.

Two Democrats announced they would join the GOP in finding Holder in contempt concerning the dispute over Fast and Furious, in which federal agents allowed 2,500 firearms to be illegally purchased on the Southwest border and two were recovered when U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was killed in December 2010.

"The Terry family, the public and Congress deserve answers," said Rep. Jim Matheson, a six-term Democrat from Utah. "Sadly, it seems that it will take holding the attorney general in contempt to communicate that evasiveness is unacceptable. It is a vote I will support."

Rep. John Barrow, a Georgia Democrat in his fourth term, said, "the only way to get to the bottom of what happened is for the Department of Justice to turn over the remaining documents." Then, he said, "we can work together to ensure this tragedy never happens again."

I hope you will read this: http://features.blogs.fortune.cnn.com/2012/06/27/fast-and-furious-truth/

Tax dollars were never used to purchase guns that were sold to Mexican Cartels. They basically poured over records of sales and entered serial #s of guns from purchases they suspected were bought on behalf of Cartels. Due to lax gun laws in Arizona, the agents couldn't arrest these suspects.

The narrative has been that tax dollars were used to buy guns that were sold to criminals that were used to kill a Border Patrol Agent. Turns out that is total BS.
